Hex's B98 build

tomorrow mrs hacksaw is gonna get things rolling, i still have afew hundred dollars worth of parts to order, but theres alot of scratch built parts to get going on.

my virgin ebolt i picked up:

concept:

Bullpup-ed + Flatline + 2way ebolt + SD board + IR eyes + Low Pressure + Qloaded = the most brutal 98

i have some other super nutty ideas..i'm looking at other options besides using a DYE membrane pad for the SD UTB, an illuminated ghost sight, etc....this gun will be toolless for feild stripping.

i already did the work for the pistol grip

sliding trigger, mech safety selector, winter trigger guard

and i'm workin on 3 98s right now....my B98, the Wendigo, and i'm making another la piglet for my captain....hope i dont start having to work OT at work

Re: Hex's B98 build

Good luck brother, looks sorta like a TAR 21 hybrid.

Is the flatline gonna be exposed or will you build a shroud?

Re: Hex's B98 build

Holy crap, this is going to be sick!! I don't know how you'll do the tool-less field stripping though.

I'll be following this one intently...

Re: Hex's B98 build

the deed has been done...

...the word of the day is Commitment (kəˈmɪtmənt, kəˈmɪt ə l) n.

-pistol grip milled off
-fore grip milled off
-lettering milled off
-safety/fire milled off
-velocity nub milled off
-rear sight milled to same height as the front
-feedneck mounts milled off

lots of work left to do to the receivers still
-drill for eyes
-drill vents
-drill and tap for new detents (shocker or automag prehaps)
-mill dovetail down once i figure out some stuff
-fill old feedport
-mill new feedport
-fill cocking slot
-fill old detent slot
-fill VFA hole
-fill blowback port hole
-fill warning lettering
-drill for accepting lower reciever setup (air manifolds and electronics)
-drill for accepting an upper receiver setup (feed system and sights)
-sandblast
-sand
-powder coat

ideas kickin around in my head:
i'm going to turn a new powertube from scratch...all the comercial ones are too loose of a fit with the front bolt...as well mine wouldn't have the FVA or the blowback port for cyclone/rt...and now i'm thinking of making my own valve body from scratch vs doing a no-blowback-mod...as well i dont like the GTA ram so im probably gonna make the 2way ram from scratch vs modifying it....i think the psycoballistics ones were better for the 2way mod anyways...

i wonder if an oldschool anti-chop style front bolt is worth while

gonna hit up this electronics store tomorrow for some small wiring harnesses, wiring, shrink tubes and some switches...

no rest for the wicked...

the way i have it planned, a majority of the flatline will be exposed....there will be a shroud like object on there but its primary function will be to mount my sights to and cover up some of the electronics.

i will also be getting a lapco a5 thread to 98 adapter so i can run my Milsig Marksman Barrel, which is part of the reason for the 'open' concept with the shroud
