Hey i decided to make my first set of grips for my 98 custom. I just bought my gun two weeks ago and this is my first 'upgrade'. I added a black strip on each side for looks....... I plan to make more grips, and even try to make wrap around grips.

How did I do?

alright nice the only thing i dont like is the black strip and maybe stain it but otherwise good work

I do plan to cover the grips with several coats of clear urethane. I just haven't had time yet

Now I just put a coat of poly-urethane on them,, they look alot better because the grain now appears

I forgot to post the finished product, so here they are....

a few coats of polyurethane and they are done!

Nice job on the grips. Do you wear gloves? I'm asking because if you don't you may have a problem with the urethane comming off. Still nice work and I like the unique strip too.
