98 Battle Rifle Project Completed

Hey 98 OG, this is my 98 custom... I tried going for a rifle setup. I like how the wieght is balanced throughout the gun. I had to work alot to earn the money in order to do this project. Here are the specs:

Tippmann 98 Custom Platinum (ACT)
Smart Parts 16 inch spiral vented barrel
Metadyne Industries 8 inch aluminum 4 weaver rail R.I.S handguard
Tippmann cyclone feed system
Tru Glo mounted red dot sight
Rap4 6 position car stock
Pure Energy 3000 psi 48 cu compressed air tank
Extreme Rage remote coil (not on in pictures)
Home-made tiger maple wood grips

But Im not done with gun, I plan to add several more upgrades such as:

Gun sling
Polish the internals
Add a Rap4 barrel camera
Maybe add a new mid grip or magazine
Get a new stock, perhaps with air-though abilities
Raise the red dot with a floating rail mount
Egrip / Response trigger
Get a x7 low profile hopper
Get an aftermarket front/rear bolt/ powertube kit

So here it is so far, and there are the future plans. Dont be afraid to tell me what you think!

Re: 98 Battle Rifle Project Completed

That's a very, very nice looking 98. May I suggest a bigger air tank? 98's are a bit of a gas hogs. I bet you probably get around 500 shots out of that 48ci. Anyways, I like it, a lot. REP4U

Police protection is an oxymoron. Free citizens must protect themselves. Police do not protect you from crime. They usually just investigate the crime after it happens and then call someone in to clean up the mess.

Before the upgrades I played with only a remote, and I could get around 600 shots with that tank.

But now I upgraded the gun and added a cyclone, so i bet it will drop to around 500-600 ish like you said. I guess I will have to wait and see untill next time I go play.

Thanks by the way

Re: 98 Battle Rifle Project Completed

the grips are ehh...but the marker looks good, i would (if it was me) honestly think a slightly darker red wood would look better on the marker, or a dark wood of some kind really...maybe a dark Jamaican type wood...(for get I think its a dark blueish/purple type wood)

Re: 98 Battle Rifle Project Completed

That is a very sweet set up. Depending on your play style you may want to get a bigger tank though.

If you go for the response trigger make sure you get the bigger air lines to avoid problems with the cyclone or the R/T.

Don't worry about getting a new bolt, hammer, and/or power tube. You won't see much of a difference. In my opinion there are only two reasons to get a different power tube. One is if you liquid CO2 through the marker. The other is to eliminate the forward velocity adjuster because you are going with a rear velocity adjuster and a regulator.
