Question Is a stock worth it?

Hi everyone, I'm wondering whether making a stock for my gun is worth it, I have a Tippmann 98 custom w/ and apex 2 barrel, remote line and star-fire bolt. Specifically I'm wondering whether the trade off of extra encumbrance is worth it on a gun with almost no kick. If you guys think its a good upgrade what length do you think is good?

Re: Is a stock worth it?

making a stock or buying one?

a stock will help you sight a bit better then using your hands
as it will rest pretty much in the same spot every time when you fire
so yes it will help
but you can also go no stock and do just fine
its more a preference then a need

I love my stock its not home-made but its bought either way I love it may make my already heavy gun weigh more but I could care less my gun does have some kick though so It kinda helps.

My stock is an adjustable car stock fully pulled out which is the way I use it is roughly a foot long.

Re: Is a stock worth it?

You should look at the project salvo stocks. Yes they are a little bit more than a regular colapsable stock, but it can also fold. I have one on my UMP416 an it works great.

Depends on what you mean by worth it.
I say its worth buying if you can find one for cheap $15 if you have "kick"

I have a Tippmann 98 custom w/ and apex 2 barrel, remote line and star-fire bolt.
Hows the star fire bolt working out for you?
I always suggest the stock bolt...

Specifically I'm wondering whether the trade off of extra encumbrance is worth it on a gun with almost no kick
Its not worth the extra weight if you are getting zero kick

Re: Is a stock worth it?

To have a stock or not really depends on what type of paintball your playing. I've found that i love my stock when playing in urban settings and woodsball because of the stability a stock gives you, but during speedball it kind of just gets in the way or becomes a target when your running from one bunker to another.

To have the best of both worlds you might check out folding stocks?

Re: Is a stock worth it?

Its a prefrence thing. Some like a stock for the form and function of it. I myself prefer a stock and have one on my 98, A5, and Alpha Black. I find it easier to aim because i use the stock to help aim down marker.

While it isnt a nessecity a stock does help somewhat.

But most of the time its an asthetic.. its there cause it makes the marker look that much cooler :P

Re: Is a stock worth it?

yeah that's mainly why I wanted a stock, I might consider putting one on another gun I have but I think I'll stick to no stock for my CQC gun
