Lightbulb Tippmann 98 to a p90 project

Hey guys! I've seen a few tippmann A5's Turned into p90's. Haven't seen any p90's threads for the 98 so I'm going to do my best to create one. I'll post my progress as i get through it.

Got my P90 airsoft gun in today.

I found it on Ebay for about $40.

I ground out the plastic ribs and gearbox holing strucures that were not needed so i can fit the 98 easier.

This is all i have so far because I'm waiting to find me a cheap Model 98 or 98 custom. I'm trying to keep the project under $100. Being a college student I don't exactly have tons of money to throw at this lol.

Re: Tippmann 98 to a p90 project

Here is an idea of what I'm going to try and fit inside the p90 body. This is my brothers 98 custom, i'm just using it to size up what i got ahead of me. =)

Looks like a cool project. You'll probably want a 98 with an E-grip, unless you can find a way to rig a second trigger and a nifty linkage arm.

Re: Tippmann 98 to a p90 project

my suggestion take the 98 apart take out the plactic grip
off and dremal the grip off kinda like this pic
also you gonna wanna cut off just under half the pistol grip or until it fits
also while you are at it you might wanna grind down the top sight

after that you need a stiff stick
coat hanger will do and you need another trigger for ther front
lay the coat hanger inside the marker behind your extra trigger
and have it so when you press the spare trigger you can hit the back trigger you may need to hold it in there with somethign like a strap but make sure you can still move it with it strapped down

you can make a notch in the air soft shell where the asa goes thru
unscrew it from the bottom of the pistol grip and then when the shells are together screw it back on but thru the shells so you might need a lil longer screws

hope that helps
but you could always just use this as reference as its an A5

gamma's Mechanical p90

Re: Tippmann 98 to a p90 project

Thanks for the tips ARSON I saw Gammas A5 p90 a while back and thats when i decided I had to have one. I looked into an E-grip (figured it would be easier) but i never been big on batteries so I'm going to go for the linkage arm from the P90 trigger to the 98's trigger.

Re: Tippmann 98 to a p90 project

Yeah, you don't see many P90 98's. With the A5 they made the B5 kit that converted it to a bullpup. For some reason they never made for the 98...

Re: Tippmann 98 to a p90 project

How I see it us there is 2 holes in the p90 so one gas the trigger it came with right ? Why not just rip it out, sand the front grip of the 98 and the grip , than put the 98 in the second hole so no need for linkage arm ,right? Just sand it a lil so there is a groove for the trigger.

Would this work if so I might make one of these my self

Re: Tippmann 98 to a p90 project

with that idea you would have to grid the top off to get it over there (have to remeber about the feed neck and hopper)
then you just kinda kill the look
