So I got myself a little christmas present. I found a seller who offered me a pair of model 98 shells + trigger, grips and backcap. They are quite beat up (just the way I wanted them) but I just realized they are the "gilled" kind which makes them not suit the purpose for which I procured them.

That is why I thought I'd put up a thread asking you what I should do with them? (i can rip the internals from my rk-62 since that is more of a wallpice nowadays anyhow if the PS airline nut will fit).

sorry no pics, as they have yet to arrive.

but what to do with them? mod them? paint them? mod it internally?

Clean them up and sell them?

not really a market for that here.. Was thinking of saving them and using them. But you know, once you go mod, you can't stop

I just feel I should do something to them.

the original idea was having a pair of beat up 98 shells house an ion or some other speedball marker to act as my "sleeper". But the gills won't allow me to leave the outer shells untouched. Perhaps I should do a supergun? I do have an extra DM7 board and a broken ion from which I could get a noid.. Just need the bolt from somewhere and a micro reg.

put the gun together go out in a safe open area and attempt to blow it up

thus showing its true durability

oh yeah do not do this if u are under 18

getting a hold of explosives is quite difficult where I live, they even stopped selling some of the firecrackers at new years due to them containing black gunpowder.

I would probably just get it functioning and take a Dremel to it. Open the gills, shave logos and clean it up. Not really too much you can do to it other than get it working..I would like to see someone doing and plain old 98 project.

make it into a 98 that no one has ever seen yet
