Re: Trying out the Alpha Black

OK, I used it for the entire game. I was indeed impressed! I kept it on 3 round burst, and that seemed to work out quite well. The only problem I had the entire game was I think I need a new barrel. I got 4 kills in 3 hours, but they were within 30-40 feet, anything farther than that was pretty much a crap shoot. The E-Grip took a little getting used to, it is a bit touchy. I accidently let a volley go at a team mate who was in front of me (embarassing!) I am glad I upgraded to the Cyclone feeder. With my 45/3000 I usually get a hopper and 4 pods with my Ion XE, however with the AB, I got 3 more pods out of the same tank!! Nice!! Aiming is an impossibility, as far as those of us who have actually fired an M-4 are used to. The mask gets in the way, so as an inovative sailor, I quickly adapted to using my thumb of my left hand positioned center of the barrel, that worked fine and was still comfortable. As one who is prone to horrible fits of buyers remorse, I am pleased to say I have not had any with this marker!! So in conclusion, if you are considering an Alpha Black in the near future, DO IT!! You won't regret it!

Sweet Thor..did you happen to get any pictures of the action? I just bought a red dot scope for my AB hoping it will help me out in the field. In reading the many reviews, the Red Dot is a positive addition for the further away shots. Now that you have an AB, venture on over to the Alpha Black Forum...now that it's up an running! We talk ABs all day bud!

Thor....glad to hear you are impressed. I dont have one but from all of you guys that are here, its nothing but goodness lol.

If you are looking into barrels I would suggest an Apex but you probably have one in mind.

Aren't all of us Sailors Inovative? lol Dont know about those backpackers or low flyers lol (j/k)

Re: Trying out the Alpha Black

Good to hear that u are happy with the marker. Why dont you look into the J&J ceramic. I have a 14 incher and it made the AB look alot better too, especially with the apex tip on it.

Re: Trying out the Alpha Black

That's about what I am looking at. I have a 14" J&J on my old M98, and I love it. I am thinking about another one with the apex tip. Other than a handle riser and a red dot, I can't think of anything else to do to it.

Stock AB with Egrip

He said it worked well for him. It is not a bad marker at all.

No, it's not bad at all. I like that ACU. That was not an option at my local PB shop, and besides it would be a little silly for a sailor to tote army camo!! lol
