I have tried to keep a visual record of the customization of my 98. I thought it would be fun to post images of its evolution from beginning to now.

As always, we must start at the birth... (Only this is a lot cleaner.)

Next, I added a stock. Nothing else.


(Again, NOT my 98. But danged if someone didn't do exactly what I did.)

After the stock, I felt a new barrel was in order. I searched high and low looking at price, form and function. I ended up buying a 16" RIS barrel with Picatinny rails. It also came with a mock suppressor and M-16 front sight.



Not yet happy, as I'm sure all of you can identify with, I needed more. A friend pointed out to me it looked kind of puny. So, I added a top rail, a Bossman mag, Rocket Cock II, and a friend was kind enough to give me a front tactical grip.



I then realized, those Picatinny rails are sharp! So, rail covers!



While in a sporting good store, I came across a "Paintball Sniper Package". It came with a folding bipod and a red dot scope for only $30.00! Turns out the scope was a piece of junk. But the mounting rings are good. (Notice I removed the front M-16 sight.)



So, for a while I was having to wait until my funds built back up. I found a great website that had instructions for a 3 point tactical sling. Made it for $6.00. I also found a laser sight on sale marked down from $32.00 to $16.00. So, I bought that. Then, there was a dry spell, as I am sure all of us have experienced. And... TAX time!! I had a little fun money to round out my marker. I finally added:
Cyclone w/ X7 low profile hopper
Tri-Rail Riser
45 degree offset rail
DTB4 Red Dot Scope


(Note the removal of the mock suppressor and the return of the front sight. The suppressor made it too long and I needed the sight for the sling attachment. But, I think it gives it a good look.)

Well, its been a fun experience upgraded, and I still have other things. Need to polish the internals and a few other odds and ends. Response triggers aren't for me. Other things may come and go. (The bipod is game dependent for example.)
