Hosting, Posting, and Resizing Photo's

Hosting

There are numerous websites that allow you to upload photo's onto their server and then repost via a link onto forums...etc. Here is a short list of sites that allow this:

Paintball Upload Dot Com - Main Index - Powered by PhotoPost

Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket

imageShack.com - Your Photo and Imaging Portal

You will need to register with them before they will allow uploading.

Posting

Posting a photo is easy. Most photo hosting sites will provide a URL/address of the photo (don't use the URL that contains any HTML tags in it, use the direct url only). For those that don't, right click the image, select properties, and copy the image URL/address. Simply copy and paste into your post. Then add [*IMG] at the beginning of the URL and [*/IMG] at the end of it. Make sure you remove the red asterisks though, or the HTML coding won't work.

Assuming you have copied the image URL, you can also click on the "Insert Image" icon and then paste the URL in the popup box, and click ok. This method will automatically place the [*IMG][*/IMG] tags around the link.

Resizing

Resizing photo's is pretty simple and everyone who has Windows can do it. Start up MS Paint, select File, Open, and then choose the picture you wish to resize. From there choose Image (located at the top of MS Paint page), Stretch/Skew, and then change the percentages of the Horizontal and Vertical only. Reduce both by the same percentage, if you don't then the picture will look deformed. Typically reducing both to 25% the first time, will make them a good size. If you make them to small, or accidentally put in different percentages thus making them deformed.... simply start the entire process over again by opening and selecting the picture again. DO NOT SAVE THE PICTURE UNTIL YOU ARE FINISHED AND HAPPY WITH IT'S SIZE.

As a general rule, if you have to scroll to view the entire picture.... then you need to resize it. Minor scrolling is ok, but scrolling 2 pages worth is not.
