my 98c - run 1

hey guys just found what looks like an a5 top cover so took it home and obviously it didnt fit, got out the hacksaw and grinder etc, was in a bit of a rush so came out ROUGH, but gives me the general idea of what my 98 is going to look like.

Please excuse the top cover, will be perfect once i get hold of one designed for the 98. I also severly dislike the standard 98 front grip, am not sure what to do about it at this stage.

Im also thinking of getting a 1x magnification ACOG sight, more for looks than practicality

Also what are your thoughts on the tippmann magazine? modify it for a slightly bigger one, or ok as is.

Thankyou for your comments

Re: my 98c - run 1

i think the opsgear ak mag is the best looking aftermarket ak mag....or you could buy the Bossman m16 mag kit then put an airsoft mag on it

the opsgear mag covers up the foregrip better too

Re: my 98c - run 1

yea guys i was thinking the same, front grip will get the chop, as soon as i can get hold of a die grinder, i only have a disc grinder and its far too rough for tricky work.

The grips are made by virtue, they have destroyer written on them, im assuming this is the design. i saw on Trade Me – New Zealand online auctions and classifieds. Browse, buy and sell online on trademe.co.nz - New zealands version of ebay.

The grips are made by Virtue. They were from some form of speedball gun, may have been an ego 08 and the guy i got them from bought them from the states when he was on holiday. Being .45 grips they are a direct fit for the 98

I just had an idea, may leave the gront grip on, add this magazine - Tippmann Model 98 AK MAG
and chop the tippmann magazine off and just have the magwell to fill the bit of gap between trigger and front grip.

Can you picture it? Your thoughts please

cheers

Re: my 98c - run 1

I don't like those as much. It puts the mag too far forward, and ruins the look.

Those grips are most definitely not for Egos. They have a different screw orientation.I want to say they were on the Russian Legion Shocker, but I'm not positive.

And FWI, you don't need a grinder to pemove the front grip. A hacksaw and some files will work fine.

Re: my 98c - run 1

yea mate i think you may be right, the russian legion does ring a bell. Bought them so long ago my memory is a bit fuzzy and i dont know one speedball gun from another lol

Hmmm i may just get the hacksaw out this afternoon, i dont really have an eye for detail but i will take things slow and should come out fine.

I was thinking that the magazine was way too far forward with that opsgear one, wasnt sure if it was just me

thanks

Re: my 98c - run 1

Just give yourself a little room when using the hacksaw; that way if you don't cut straight or whatever you have room to fix it.
