QDing without a slide check?

I've seen some quite conflicting stuff on youtube, the forums, and a lot of it's old product launches etc. - I don't really know what's going on now.

I have a Guerilla Cobra remote line, and when I disconnect, there's a loud snap as the existing pressure is released suddenly.

Am I doing this right? There's no slide check or anything. Should I be unscrewing the tank screw (on my back) before QDing? Doesn't sound very quick.

I say a couple of videos in a thread here on 98OG, where the everyone was freaking out about how great it was - it seemed to be making the same loud snap as mine. I wondered if before this method came out, it would piss air if disconnected in this manner?

Basically - how should I be disconnecting my marker from my remote line (and HPA tank)?

Re: QDing without a slide check?

The same way you're doing it now. With a slide check you vent all the air around the quick disconnect. On the Cobra Coil you don't so there's going to be air in between the 2 seals that gets released, hence the snap.

Re: QDing without a slide check?

from what you posted it sounds like you are doing it correctly.

if you do not want to hear the pop then turn off the UFA ( turn the knob all the way up) and then fire the marker until there is no air left in it or the line. it will then disconnect very easily with no air release or noise.

Re: QDing without a slide check?

I'm not bothered about hearing/feeling it, I just wasn't sure it was right.

Didn't want to hear it if it meant something was popping or being put under too much pressure!
