Re: Flatline or apex

just played last sunday with the apex on the gun...still don't know why people still like it...i'll be changing back to the flatline as fast as i can...the apex in no way out distanced the flatline...it seems the best setting is 4 clicks on the apex which still gives you accuracy but very little distance over stock...granted you do have that a little bit of useable adjustability...but with the flatline after one use you know what you got and can rock on...just don't get it...my vote flatline all the way...

Re: Flatline or apex

I have A5's with each of these. I prefer the FlatLine over the Apex. The Apex has more range, you can do curve shots, and you can put the Apex on different barrels. But the Flat Line, while not as versatile, it is more accurate at range then the Apex. I want the range, but I want something a little closer to accurate at that range. My vote is on the FL.

I actually have the Apex on the A5 on the Coupala of my tanks and the FL on my marker I use when I ground pound. The Tank doesnt need to be accurate. It needs to get rounds down range as far as possible to keep AT off us.

Re: Flatline or apex

sorry but why would i want to ilt my gun when firing?!?!

plus the flatline looks cool and fits in with milsim but apex in my opinion is more towards the speedball way.

Re: Flatline or apex

apex, i found it to be more accurate, but what i found was if you dont have a good paint to barrel match, the apex wont spin the ball as much, or at least that's what ive observed with my .690 lapco bigshot...the paint i use sometimes falls right through and it doesn't spin as much on the small paint.

Re: Flatline or apex

i prefer the apex over the flatline

firstly apex has the ability to shoot long and flat, around corners straight down and turn it off.

When new my apex performed exceptionally well, rediculously long shots while still maintaining reasonable accuracy.

however after a month i found the apex tongue was worn and was not working any where near as well as it should have, have taken it off my barrel and never used it since.

i believe that barrel length affects how well the apex works aswell, i have shot a friends 98c with 8 inch barrel with apex, mine is a 16 inch bt-47 (bts ak47 front) with apex and while both were new and shooting reasonably close fps i would be able to get alot more range and maintain more accuracy, while dialind in same ammount of clicks on apex

have used the flatline and meh, nice to have the extra range except around 2 out of 5 shots stay on where they should be going, i used the older model flatline that screws to top of gun...what a pain to clean.

i personally prefer my bt-47 barrel with no apex on the end as the spin from the apex/flatline kills the accuracy too much for my liking. works well if you have plenty of paint to spare and get a lucky hit and or prefer giving alot of covering fire from range

being able to shoot a flat tragectory while in the bush helps immensly aswell, no longer have to lob shots and worry about hitting branches etc
