| Hey guys, I just acquired a Pro Carbine, I have links to pics in a previous post, I was wondering what barrels there are out there that are known to be compatible with the fore-grip/shroud of the Pro Carbine, the only one they had at my local shop was a Tippmann Tactical?? 12", and I definitely want a longer barrel than that, the one on it already is a 12", so, if you guys have any experience, advice, suggestions(like a good length, or a specific barrel you know will work). I want to go for a more sniper-ish gun, so I was thinking probably a 16" or longer?? Anyways, thanks ahead of time. Here's some new pics, Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket It's the whole lot of of my collection, but for this tread, focus on the Pro Carbine for now Last edited by Ghandi : 03-05-2010 at 11:14 PM. |

| Re: Barrels Compatable tith a Pro Carbine?? Well then Id say sand down your shroud. I did that on my old Pro Carbine and it worked great. And why pay 40+ when you can buy a CP for 30. AMAZING barrel

| Re: Barrels Compatable tith a Pro Carbine?? so a CP will for sure fit? if so, then i guess i'd just get one of those, but i got a ?, how accurate can a pro carbine be, cause i was thinking about a 16" or longer, and i don't want to blow away $30 when i could just get away with the barrel i got with it, if a 16" would do no better than the 12" I have on it. |

| Re: Barrels Compatable tith a Pro Carbine?? CPs dont fit unless you make the shroud hole a little bigger. Believe it or not Im running a stock A5 barrel on my PC and it works really well. I was using some no name 14 inch barrel but it just suck. It shot worse than a rental gun. So if you can I would go with a A5 stock barrel. Its not the must accurate thing Iv shot but it sure is small. I would also suggest a CP but you would have to file down the shroud. Also remember that sense the PC is a blowback marker its going to have a ton of vibration so it would be hard to make it very accurate. My PC is defferently not my number one marker but I still bring it to the field cause its a blast to use. PS. 16" is a little much. Really 14" is just as good

| Re: Barrels Compatable tith a Pro Carbine?? Around a lot of paintball circles the Tippmann Pro-Carbine plus a 16" J&J barrel is considered the choice combination of the paintball 'sniper'. The PCarbine was the first Tippmann to have the CVX all-weather valve still used in the 98s and A5s today. It handles CO2 and HPA very well. I shoot primarily 12 and 14" barrels in my other Tippmanns but the ProCarbine shines with the 16". The shape and size of this marker lends itself well to the 16" and you only have to use the iron sites to get a good and quick look at your opponent. I have only had positive experiences with this marker and barrel and this is the gun that people want to borrow the most. Seems everyone loves to shoot it. Also, there is no modification you have to make, it fits the hand guard and screws into the receivers just fine, but do not overtighten the screw unless you want to have to loosen it again to remove the barrel. I plan to get aTechT Ifit kit soon to be able to match the paint and bore of the barrel. This adds an inch or two to the total length. A 14" J&J plus an IFit Kit would bring it back to 16". I cannot wait to put this together and see just how accurate this combo can be. Play hard and play safe !!! ![]() |

| Re: Barrels Compatable tith a Pro Carbine?? I see barrel length questions all the time, and have seen some pretty good arguments for long and short barrels. The general concensus that I have seen is this. 8"-12" will be the most accurate barrels you can use. Once you exceed 12" you will actually lose accuracy. |

I beleive that you are mistaken. everything that I've read is that longer barrels will decrease your efficiency, not accuracy. |
