How To: Cyclone Disassembly

How To: Cyclone Disassembly
I know that I'm not the only one that has had paint break in the Cyclone. And, without a doubt, it can be a serious pain trying to get cleaned out with the Stars in the way.
So, here is a really quick write up on how to disassemble your cyclone completely.

First things first, remove the cyclone from the X7 receiver. To do this, you have to remove the LARGE screw on the left side of the receiver. It's the only bolt on that side that requires the large allen wrench. Afterwards, use a flathead screwdriver to remove the banjo fitting from the right side of the receiver.

Turn it over and remove the bottom plate.

Here is a shot of what you'll see once the bottom plate is removed.

Remove the spring that is against the ratchet.

Turn the cyclone over and now remove the screw holding the fingers in.

After removing the screw, be sure to hold the ratchet to keep it from falling out.

With the screw removed, and still holding the ratchet, you can now start pulling the paddles (stars) out.

Now you can slide the ratchet and all out of the Cyclone housing.

Here is a pic of all of cyclone parts laid out.

As with everything, be sure to just reverse the order to get it put back together!

When you go to put it all back together, there is a ring that goes inside where the power rod is. Make sure it's pushed all the way back into the housing. Or it wont fit back together correctly. You can see this in the following two pictures.
