Rap4 Cyclone?

Hello there! 1st time posting, but have read a lot on the past.

I just bought a rap4 Cyclone for my 98 Platinum. As soon as I bought it, I've heard some people saying that they suck, and that I'll need upgrade parts for it :/

Do you guys have any experience with it? Is it good?

Thanks for any input!

Yeah, I've gone there However, that is a thread from 2008, I thought they've solved the problems by now

Thanks!

Re: Rap4 Cyclone?

Well some people here are not big fans of RAP4/Tachamo parts as they are expensive and not always the best design or quality.

That being said, Cyclone feeds in general will vary depending on use. If you not looking to put a lot of paint down range, just a set of squishy paddles will do the trick. If on the other hand you are looking to have it keep up with an E-Trigger or Response Trigger and be reliable in the long term you may want to look at upgrades to the spindle, ratchet arm, piston arm and piston housing.

None of these upgrades are particularly must have, but at least in the case of the Tippmann Cyclone systems a lot of these internals are plastic, though of fairly good quality IMO. None the less metal aftermarket replacements will likely last longer if not perform better at higher fire rates.

In truth, I say run it stock or just with some squishy paddles for now and see if it's performance is on par. If not maybe look at swapping our the internals.

Others may have other opinions, in the end all you can do is use your best judgement and do whatever is in your budget.

Re: Rap4 Cyclone?

I live in Brazil, so the "expensive" is even more here than there However, I bought both a Cyclone and a E-trigger from Rap4. I bought a "mod kit" from them some time ago (butstock, magazine and shroud - m4 - the havok kit) and it was pretty good. Now I've bought the hawkeye mask, and the cyclone and e-trigger.

Will see how it performs - but the upgrades are probably less expensive, if I get on ebay or something like that.

Thanks once again!

This is the best advice. Rap4 is known for re-branding stuff, some which is good quality and some poor.

If you are shooting semi (8 or so bps) you should be good with a stock cyclone. But, if you plan on going full auto you will probably need to upgrade as parts tend to wear quickly..And as said atleast get some squishy paddles. I used Maddogg brand and they work fine for me. Trust me, your balls will thank you!!!!
