Arrow Cyclone Longetivity

I tried searching but couldnt find what I was looking for. Anyways, im new to the site and getting back into paintball. Just purchased a tippmann 98 platinum ACT. Looking into a Virtue board for the future. I ordered a cyclone feed system for it, but held off on a cyclone upgrade kit for now. How long are you guy's cyclone's lasting before paddles, etc. break or wear out before going to a TectT or similar upgrade kit?

Re: Cyclone Longetivity

well i be one of few that has never upgraded any cyclone
and i have had many markers with cyclone on there but
only upgrade i did for my phenom cyclone is get the phaze 5 fitting for it
to let more air in

but from what i heard the squishy paddles work the best with e-grips as they are softer on the paint
but again i did not get the squishy paddles and still had an egrip on my alpha black and i think i had one break from bad paint in the four years that i owned it

Re: Cyclone Longetivity

I used a stock cyclone (other than squishey paddles) on my 98C with egrip for 2 years. Never had a single issue.

Re: Cyclone Longetivity

Sweet, I was planning on going with the TectT 4 piece kit with squishy paddles and smoke feed neck later down the road. I have always heard, its not if the paddles (etc.) break, but when they break..

Re: Cyclone Longetivity

Paddles are always the very first thing I replace on a Tippmann.

Re: Cyclone Longetivity

I'm in the same boat - getting back into paintball after a break.

But I must have done something to anger the cyclone gods. I added the squishy paddles to the cyclone on my 98 and it's like a paintball blender.

Silly question but do you have them installed correctly? If they are upside down that will happen. I use the Maddog knockoff paddles and they work just fine..

Re: Cyclone Longetivity

These guys basically got the cyclone part covered, but have you looked into the APE Rampage board? I think it might actually be cheaper and its very reliable. The one that I have installed in my wife's marker actually had a run in with a lot of water (yikes!). I'll tell ya what, the crazy thing still fired and worked fine. I wasn't expecting it to work still after that.

Thats good to know. Ive looked into it but it has a 1 year warranty VS the Virtue's lifetime warranty. I do not have the e-grip so I need the kit aswell.
