Re: Dilema

depends on what you want? the flatline isnt gonna do much except allow oyu to (in theory) curve the ball (unless thats the apex im thinking of) or get a bit more distance, the barrels are more or less the same or really similar however its really up to you for the finial looks...

Re: Dilema

I'd say an Invert Whisper. It's a 14". I love it, and it fits in pretty much any shroud. And there's a rifled version too.

Whoooooaaaaa, BAD!!! BAD!!!!!!!!!

Recommending CP is good; I love CP. But that big of a bore size? HEEEEELLL NO!!!!!

Always get the smallest bore you can. With a CP that would be .685.

Re: Dilema

Flatline os good when tuned properly, and it will shoot farther, but won't be accurate at longer ranges. The group I play with was using mostly Flatlines when I met them. I was using a barrel kit.

Most of the group has switched over to barrel kits, as they are way more accurate. I can actually get hits at longer ranges than my friends who use flatlines.

The J&J ceramic is a good barrel. I use a J&J edge Elite barrel kit which is the same barrel type, with sized backs. If you want a good one piece barrel, just get a Lapco with Apex tip. Get one with a .687 bore of you use the higher quality paint, or a .689 bore of you use cheap paint.

Re: Dilema

Sigh... So much misinformation...

The only barrels that will affect accuracy will be really low quality ones, like stock 98 barrels. A 2-piece barrel that is paint/barrel matched will be no more accurate than a 1-piece barrel that is overbored. A 2-piece barrel will be marginally more consistant than a 1-piece barrel, and a 1-piece barrel will be marginally more effecient than a 2-piece. And bore size only affects consistancy and efficiency as well. The only thing that will increase accuracy will be better paint. That's it.

Unless your shooting paint that is .693 which in that case a small bore would be a dumb idea. I had a .693 on my 98 and loved it. Your safer to overbore than underbore in my opinion.
