| DT-14 Ion In Action Well, Finally got the video done and up. I wanted to show how well my Ion was shooting with the 14" Hammerhead Bangstikxx. Time and time again, I keep getting told that it's nearly impossible to hear the shot coming only to either see it just narrowly missing or hitting them when they least expect it. I've shot this barrel with my Ion, A5, SP8, Milsig K-series Elite and X7. Same results. Though it's gotten tough to make that first shot count but the second one always seems to hit and that's done with a good observation of the first shot and adjusting. Nice thing is, the OpFor doesn't notice the first shot until the second one hits. YouTube - Paintball Paradise - Regina, SK - Angel Force Militia Outing 21/11/09 In this video (and I wished I checked the camera before I respawned) me and another kid, 15 years old, played against 5 others in the same age group to give them an advantage as the two of us were highly skilled. They had two respawns. We had three to be fair. That meant we had to eliminate them 15 times to win while they only needed to eliminate us 6 times to win. We decided to be a little easy on them and three of them coordinated quite well to take both of us out. I laughed at the hit because it was such a good shot on the run. I warned them to get a little more serious because it gets more from here on out. I heard them going..... well can't say it here as it's not PG13. All 5 started scrambling and the respawn was in the open so as to give me and my teammate the disadvantage. This was where the video abruptly ended by mistake. My bad fellas. I wished I could have shown what I did because I ended up demoslishing them and not hit a second time. However, my partner, not realizing his own mistake got shot out twice more and figured it out on his third respawn what he was doing wrong. What scared the OpFor was our lack of communication and highly coordinated attacks. Well that's what it appeared in their eyes. It was true the two of us never said a single word, except at the start of the game in choosing our directions. According to Dalton's friend (Dalton was the guy that was my teammate by the way) he said that it was like we had telepathy because we literally had them running in circles trying to figure out how we are communicating and making coordinated moves as neither of us had radios or said a single word, nor looked at each other once. He said that I was the scariest (I don't believe him) because I was moving so quickly even though they spotted me several times. One moment I was there and the next I wasn't. Well it was true that me and Dalton never said a word, never made a signal and had no radios. We just simply acted without thinking, kind of like running on instincts knowing what SHOULD happen. That was the conclusion we both came to. As for me moving around, yes. I was keeping an eye on all five but it was hard to coordinate my shots due to the fact they were very well covered by the small branches that kept taking my marksman shot away. However, I knew I was exposing myself and the reason was to provoke them to come after me. They did kinda confuse me for a bit for not moving. Oh here's a good one, during the middle of the match, I actually had forgot to turn my cell phone off. It rang while I was flanking and figured, oh what the hell, I'm pwning them anyways. I'll let them have a free shot at me. Answered my phone and it was Fountain Tire that answered letting me know that my tire was ready to go. I asked when they were open till and they told me 4. I told them I was in a middle of a paintball match and that I would be a while before I could get there. The guy laughed because he didn't know what I meant when I told him that I had people to shoot up after dropping off my rim and flat tire. He said, "So that's what you meant by shootin' people." "Did I really say that?" I asked. "Yep. No worries bud. It's all cool. I play paintball too." "Oh cool, maybe you could come by the field and drop my tire off and maybe have a match or two?" I said. "Maybe next time but I'm here until closing. We don't have delivery service anyways." "Oh shoot! I forgot about that. Thanks for lettin' me know. I'll call my dad to have it picked up." He laughed a good one the second time and then I hung up and texted my father to pick up the tire. All this time I'm thinking, where is that free shot? Here's the kicker, the whole time, me and Dalton were standing there and he gave me look like he was literally going to kill me if I didn't hang up. Though he knew what I was doing instinctively, giving the OpFor a free shot. We both laughed after I was done and disappeared. Now the story from Dalton's friend was that they were confused as heck as to what was going on. They didn't know if the match was stopped or whether we were respawning or what we were doing but they did see us clear as day. They were stunned to learn that me and Dalton were giving them a free chance to make their longball shot if they could. They regretted it big time because after that, I cleaned house. According to Dalton, 8 of the eliminations were mine and I only recall getting 4. I was sure it was Dalton that got them most because I was literally shooting like you saw in that video. I had no intent on hitting them but allowing Dalton to make his marksman shots as I had full 2000 rounds on me including my 400 round Pinokio hopper to boot. LOL Throughout most of the day, when me and Dalton were on the same team, we used the confusion tactic on the OpFor cause it's so funny to see the reaction. Good thing about this was that everyone had a smile on their faces and had something to talk about which really made my day. It was what I wanted to see. However, I was disappointed that majority of the talk was about me and the way I played. I was just having a good time and wasn't really playing my best for most of the game just so that everyone could enjoy the game. They made me into a superballer I never really was. All in all, I wished I could have brought in other groups earlier because they had wanted to play with us the same time we had to leave. Just had to share because I feel it was worth sharing. I know everyone loves a good day of ballin'. The kids were great and the parents were great about the sport. They seem to have grown a lot of trust in having me play with them. We're planning a big trip for next year when everyone can drive and we can go to the bigger games up North. The staff that has known Dalton for a long time were very pleased to hear and see that I was playing with them because Dalton and his friends seems to be their favourite group they like coming to their field. I should mention that throughout the day, I have caught some ballers who were new breaking the rules and the refs who didn't notice was notified so that everyone stayed safe. I was thanked by the staff for catching that because they were having a bit of problems with that for the last few weekends. I only did it out of instinct because I wanted everyone to have a safe and fun time and didn't want to see anyone get hurt over a single paintball or worse end up hospitalized. I like the field I play at despite the prices but it's worth it because of the great people that play there. Too bad I couldn't get my XCR-45A tested out as I had problems with the feedneck not holding onto the hopper properly. DT-14 made up for that nicely. Though I did learn that the eye wires were crushed and wondered why I had no chops but had barrel breaks. I learned that the straightline barrel has a smaller diameter than the hammerhead one and ended up changing over to my bangstikxx. Problem solved. Rifling should not be so close that it would rip the balls into shreds. So straightline users, if you are using a .688 and find the rifling smaller than the bore sizer itself, this is a bad barrel unless you use the .686 or smaller paint. Hammerhead is the barrel to go with unfortunately. By the way, I never planned on this outting. I was actually invited by Dalton as he likes me to come out to have a challengeable player as he puts it. His friends, and I can attest to this, are no where near as skilled as we are. I figured what the heck and just go out. It was good I did. So if you're readin' this Dalton, thank you. And one funny thing I learned is every time I go out and play, I keep learning something valuable. God, this sport is literally my favourite school. I love to learn. I'm a proud paintballer and I'm glad I choose this sport. Are you?

| Re: DT-14 Ion In Action Hey, Timmy's is the other great Canadian icon, second only to hockey. Those cups kinda stand out. Looks like a cool field. I might have to make a trip east and check it out sometime.

| Re: DT-14 Ion In Action Thanks fellas. It's miy favourite field as they have tons of trees, trenches and a couple of urban like settings there. Though, they could use a little work to close off some areas that are kinda unsafe but for the most part, it's an absolutely outstanding field. The one you guys saw is my favourite field, World War II, a.k.a. trench warfare. Hehehehe. We got some 7 foot trenches that me and Dalton love to use to our advantages. In other words, actually diving head first into the pit. I just wished my camera was rolling so that it would have captured that. Need to get a helmet cam too. And no, we don't hit head first. We're smarter than that. ![]() Glad you guys liked the field. There's an awesome indoor field that a town has in an old hotel that's being used as a bar while second floor is the field. Going to be heading there in February and hopefully get some footage as well. Crazy place to play for CQB. ^_^ From what I'm hearing, our province is bringing in serious potential for paintball fields and we're still growing. I'm hoping to get the chance to play on all the fields. Darn it. I need to pay off all my bills so I can get out more often.

| Re: DT-14 Ion In Action Nice video. Is that a Tachyon XC by any chance? Never really liked barrel mounted video because of all the "muzzle down" that's on it...but where you had it made your point about silence. The loader was louder than the firing marker...lol.
