i know that fields have chronos.. but would be nice to own one.. if you know what fields allow you can be ready.. adjusted.. and so not to need adjusting..

The X radar is an infinitely better unit than the yellow one.

The X radar is more accurate, has more features is easier to use and is designed and built for bows and paintball markers.

The yellow one was originally designed for baseball I am told.

I use the Chrony F1. I have had no trouble with it. I use it because my church has a paintball ministry and it keeps everything safe. The only problem I have had with it is that some of the guys keep shooting it and I did not get the paintball one. But, I made up a plexiglass cover for it so now I'm not having to clean it as much.

im looking to purchase a cheap one as well, how well do the smaller yellow ones work? we just want to keep everyone in the 280-290 range. Not worried about BPS or anything..

The little yellow ones work. They dont give you BPS just FPS. I've never compared them to our big chorons at the chrono range to see how close they are. Generally the little yellow ones our zone refs keep to spot check on the field.

If the other ones do BPS too, I'd probably opt for that. $30 isnt really that much more. And your able to do a bit more tuning if you can check both FPS and BPS... Honestly, they'd be alot better for refs then the yellow ones. people shooting too fast is an issue you hear people complaining about, but we dont have any way to spot check it with the little yellow ones.

I have the X-Radar and for the money it really is a nice little chrono. The BPS feature is very nice to have, even though I only use mechs. The FPS readings are very precise. I chronoed my 98 with it right before I went to the West Point Combat Classic and when I chronoed on the West Point chronographs, I was getting the exact same FPS readings as the X-Radar had given me. All in all the X-Radar is a great little investment and I highly recommend it.

I need a good (field chrono preferred) chrono, I know the X radar is one that people like but what are some of the others used by fields? one local field has one thats a long red thing, where could I get something like that?

I want one that could do FPS/MPS (imperial and metric) if possible...
