Re: favorite tippmann

I would have to say the tried and true 98. But I have to say that I like the project salvo of them all the 98 and salvo have a ton of upgrades available for each of them. However I do like how the A5 and X7 are coming along like the A5 quick thread barrels.

Re: favorite tippmann

I have to admit, I love my old prolite. 16" All American old school 1 piece barrel and a 16 oz tank, nice and short, for a stock. Its not quiet, but shoots true. And, if any of you older ballers remember, the prolite could be tipped barrel down, fired 2-4 times, then shoot hot. Usually 20 to 30 fps the next 3 shots, because of the liquid getting in.
I also have a 2nd prolite that I strictly run on liquid in the winter, springs cut and shoots well below 10 deg around 275fps.
And by the way, my 98custom has been run for at least 10 years now, without, repeat, without any major oring rebuild.
Man I love them, they're tanks.

my 98 and A5 have had no rebuilds yet (except for the pen spring nod or something like that where I had to tear it down) but I know the 98 has had dirt, water, mud and other contaminants in it and I have yet to do any O-ring rebuild on it...

Re: favorite tippmann

you know i have a buddy that thinks in order to have a great functioning gun you have to spend a lot of money he has two angels. Every time we go play he has to tear them down, which if you have ever owned one you know there is a lot crap to them. me on the other hand i have never had a problem i love my Tippman and wouldn't have it any other way!!!

Re: favorite tippmann

I would have tot agree with you crackerjackdan, but i wouldn't say it was like a old toyota, it's more like a old chevy, sorry.

But anyways i have a salvo, i play with that, but when my arms are tired of that i'm back to the 98c in a heart beat.
