A novel idea indeed, but the cost and the limitation of paint, especially on a "run of the mill" park is gonna get you rained on. Big fat rain, lol, by some wild eyed youngster that's got two cases of paint standing by in the staging area. I think this is well suited for the simulation purist with deep pockets running around on his own land with his buddies that have similar setups. You gotta remember, there's no even keel at a public park.

i go to drop in quite a bit with just my milsig and my kills always outweight my deaths....no different than the pump guys...as well we do have limited ammo games/events locally...i'm getting further away from the full-autos (Just when i finish collecting 26 qpods)

Re: Tacamo Mag Conversion

Yeah, full auto fire just doesn't do it for me anymore. I get a bigger kick out of taken people out with a few shots rather than 50 rounds to take them out. But at the same time, I don't think I'm quite ready to jump to a pump marker either, so this is a good medium. Especially since I have military training with an M4, this should fit me very well. ^_^

Re: Tacamo Mag Conversion

I'm gonna go into a buit of a rant here. Anyone wishing to debate this, cool. As Druid knows I love a good debate as long as it stays cordial.

A three round burst from a mag feed will eleminate little Johnny with his Etek just fine. And just like most pump players, mag fed players will learn more discipline.

Mag Fed is what the game needs to grow in the right direction. New players dont come back because they cant afford to compete with little Johnny and his $1000 DM what ever, nor can they afford to pay for two cases of paint every time they go out since everyone believes in accuracy by volumn these days. And of course no one likes getting shot up by people who loose common since because they're gun will shoot 20 bps.

And that gentlemen is why I went Milsim. Now I do still play regular scenarios and run a Tank so I am right there where tons of paint gets thrown, so I aint exactly helping the problem myself. That's scenario, but walk on, or when I am not in a tank, I am switching to mag fed. it will save me money on paint, hopefully I will get a bit better aim as I really do suck there. I try not to over shoot already.

Now I tell you, I never was a RAP fan in the past. But they seem to be doing alot to change their reputation. The box mag, they delay its release. They tell us, there is a problem with the motors not feeding right with more then 150 rounds in the box. They are waiting on the new motors to install. Most companies, even our beloved Tippmann would have sent them out and then send us the fix once they figure it out and we start calling into them complaining. Tippy knew the problem with the TPX mags not feeding right, and the air leak in the Phenom. And they had to know of the feed issues with the X7 when it came out. People should not have to buy after market paddles out of the box to get the marker to work. But Tippy send out the fix fast or fixes it for free and instead of complaints they get compliments on customer service. They wouldnt have the customer service rep if the products were right from the factory, there be no reason to call them. Companies arent willing to delay those sales. They sale it where they know it wont work right and fix it later. RAP, I am watching closely. Because they are the only ones doing anything to truely futher Milsim play. And I hope they dont screw it up. So far, they have taken steps in the right direction. If they keep that up, they will gain me as a customer. They probably never thought the delay of a product could win someone over.

I can't wait for mine. I'll be sure to put an honest review in for you. Now, I won't be doing anything bat poo crazy like running it over with my truck or anything, but as far as performance goes, I'll let you know!

Re: Tacamo Mag Conversion

Well Ive had my issue with RAP4...and honestly when I got the mag feed I was pretty much done with them altogether, however I figured since I want mag feed and this was coming out I went and got one for the 98 and the A5 and figure I will let them have another chance to redeem them selves but for the most part I like to have true milsim style which I know this will provide, plus $119 for both kits instead of $119 for one...can't beat that...

Re: Tacamo Mag Conversion

I was informed that I will be receiving my kit in January, so keep your fingers crossed! I don't see any reason really why it shouldn't be money well spent, but there is always that grey area I suppose. It uses all Tippmann stuff other than the feed system, so really the only areas I can see being an issue is the internal airline having issues and/or the feed system having issues. If this is the case, I don't see how they can screw it up. Either way, I can't wait to get my hands on the kit, good or bad.

Re: Tacamo Mag Conversion

Looks cool. I watched the video for this a few days ago. I bit pricey for what it is though.

Would it be easy to switch back to a normal gravity feed system for playing with a different group of people?
