| Re: homemade m4/m16 mag. you could do it tho you will have to make some kind of block out plate for where the hopper normally feeds in. then take and cut the front grip level with the body then modify a magwell on to that 98 figure out where your hole will like up. modify the ball latch so that it will still work because of where you are feeding from will require that or do a barrel kit with the bores you need to hold paint in them. then it is all a matter of the magazine. tho i would probly start with the mag and work your way to the gun then working out any feed issues. or buy the mag feed conversion kit from crap4

| Re: homemade m4/m16 mag. i think making mags from scratch could prove difficult (i.e. finding the correct springs) but making your own magwell is totally doable IMO. i was actually at one time thinking of getting a 98 just to make it use TPX mags converted to FS. Since the mags are quite small the 98 would pretty much look like stock (the foregrip replaced by the tpx mag) and people would not expect the "sniper" ![]() |

| Re: homemade m4/m16 mag. ya what the others have said its "do-able" but you have to have the right stuff and knowledge to do it the mags you would have to get one of the mag srpings and some how make a track for it to follow in side the mag

| Re: homemade m4/m16 mag. or just wait for someone to do it and save up for it. Or buy an airsoft mag catch do a little work on it and put some spacing inbetween the catch so it holds .68 cal paintballs instead of 6mm bbs.

| Re: homemade m4/m16 mag. the only thing is that most of the airsoft magwells are for m4/m16 mags (5.56x45mm nato rounds) while the mags for paintball are basically the same size as 7.62x51mm nato rounds. meaning you would have to get the magwell off of an SR-25 or scar-H (not L), all are on the more expencive side. don't let the other's get you down. a magwall is basically a "just a hole" with a maglatch. it's not difficult. Making the "AK" style mag catch is probably easier than the m4-styled magwell with the button on the side picture: if you want i could do a rough scetch and step by step guide on how to do a magwell + magcatch thingy. Ofc that would have to be modified to fit to the mags you end up using. for the mags the only difficult thing is getting the springs (and depending on how picky you are) the "correct look" of the mags. in short get this tool: and then take a piece of wood and cut the "route" you want the balls to go inside the mag, basically something like the "U" shape inside a milsig mag: ![]() then saw another piece of wood the same way so that when you put the two pieces together they form that uniform "groove" just like inside a milsig mag. then make sure they are the same widht as a ball (optionally you could do that in the beginning also). after that you make sideplates and put it all together. spring inside and detents on the "feedneck" that will be pushed aside when the mag is put inside the magwell. TOTALLY doable. personally i think finding the correct spring is the most difficult of it all. You could however make one. just take a pipe roughly the same size as a paintball, twist metal wire around it, take it off the pipe and put olive oil on it and bake it in the oven. or follow the instructions here:http://home.earthlink.net/~bazillion/compression.html |
