Angry Mask Fans

Do they really help? Either ones that come built in or ones added.

I've had a few issues with my mask fogging, not near as much as some older ones I've used. I'm going to try some of the no-fog tips on here before I either buy a fan or another mask. Also would the fan help with face sweat?

Re: Mask Fans

FANZ are the best I have used. The JT's and Dye's suck and are loud. Here's a link:

FANZ KITS & PARTS

They have ready made kits and kits that you can make yourself. They will work with any mask to

Re: Mask Fans

Basically, those FANZ are probably your best bet. Technically, you could buy it all at Radio Shack, because it is a small computer fan connected to a 9 volt and an on/off switch. But it is cheaper to buy it at the FANZ website.

Re: Mask Fans

My goggles have the JT Spectra frame with thermal lens. I have never had an issue with my lens fogging up, except for when the thermal layer separated from the lens. Main thing I have to worry about is my glasses fogging up. a combination of anti-fog spray and the JT Vortex II fan keeps my glasses fog free in all but the worst conditions.

Re: Mask Fans

Awesome replies. I was honestly considering buying a JT fan that is really small and mounts on top of your forehead for $20. I think the FANZ/DIY with something similar to Devlin's setup would work better since I can just customize it any way I need to.

And like Dark Shadow Hunter I wear glasses and sometimes I have a hard time finding a mask that fits well with them. I haven't had them fog up too often but if I don't have my mask on in a certain way I tend to get moisture on them from my exhaling not exhausting from the mask properly. Which I think starts to led to my mask lens fogging not to mention my head getting hot and sweating.

Re: Mask Fans

I used the JT mask fans, both versions. They lasted a few outings, but were always loud. I've had the Fanz for a year or so and they work fine. The fanz also work 100 times better than the JT's

When ever I go in for an eye exam to get new glasses I always go for a smaller wire frame. So far the only goggles I have had issues with were the ones with the JT Elite frames. They always wanted to keep my glasses when I took them off.

Re: Mask Fans

I run a single FANZ kit in two of my masks and they work like a charm. I have thermal lenses and before the Fanz, I would still fog. I no longer fog and am able to see my targets
