Re: My First Mag!

Thanks everyone for the comments. Yea I thought it was a great deal with all of those barrels lol. The Smart Parts All Americam Barrel looks great, cant wait to shoot it. Yea, I have posted this over at x7og, there are quite a few Mag owners over there. Magpie showed me that I could polish it down to the stainless steel, and I think Im going to do exactly that. They also taught me this marker's body is milled to accept a pump kit, so that may be a possible upgrade in the future. And they also showed me that I have one of the first original style grip frames..... But for right now, my plans are to clean everything up, polish the body, repaint the grip frame, and replace the airlines with macroline.

I am probably going to keep this one as a classic 68 Automag setup. I still have alot to learn about them, then maybe in the future I will build another mag from scratch for my liking, we will see.

@ my98. It is a 68 Automag designed and built by AirGunDesigns

Re: My First Mag!

I finished polishing everything.... I will post pictures up soon.

I was going to totally polish through the body all the way through the powdercoat, but I didnt. I took a brillo pad and steel wool to the body. I got the body spotless, then I decided I would like the polished grey better than a full chrome affect.

But then I polished the vertical adapter, rail, and grip frame all the way through. I went from 60grit -180 grit-400 grit- brillo pad -steel wool. It took me 6 hours of hand polishing to do everything!!!! But it was well worth it, and I am very pleased with the results. Then I through on a chrome vertical grip, and chrome on/off asa. I totally cleaned all the internals and oiled them. I also attatched black macroline from the asa to the reg. I cleaned up all the barrels and now everything is complete!!!!!!!

It shoots like a beauty. I cant believe how accurate, crisp, and quiet it is.
