| New internals for original 98? Okay, had an o-ring let go inside the valve of my original 98 recently. Had it fixed, but the airsmith noted that a lot of the valve internals were rusted and that there was no guarantee of how long it will last. Since the original 98, I have been informed that the powertubes/valves have changed, making it incompatible to use new ones in an old 98? This is an early run, original gold marble powdercoating, serial #25781 Course....part of me is tempted to find out if it is at all remotely possible to have the clamshells milled to accept the internals of the phenom.... In the mean time, should the valve let go at some point, what are my options in keeping this old beast soldiering on? |

| Re: New internals for original 98? "airsmith"??lol only PLATNUM SERIES have a different (newer) valve (tippmannparts.com have everything and anything tippmann as well you can call tippmann direct for warrenty work and replacement).....lol...there's no steel (or a ferrious metals to rust/oxidize) in the cup seal....maybe the spring and the valve stem could rust but they're don't seal anything....run some oil through the valve occasionally

| Re: New internals for original 98? hexbasher is right. About the only thing that could oxidize/rust inside the valve is the spring. As long as you run some oil through the valve occasionally you will be fine.
