Bought a used 98c and took it apart and it was very difficult to get the two halves apart. Finally did, parts flew everywhere (found them all) and I find the powertube to be cracked, had to be when I pulled the halves apart. It's the gun was never taken apart.

Anyways I was looking for a replacement powertube and all I find on any websites are in the $13-15 range. Don't really want to pay a 1/3 of what I paid for the gun. Especially a gun that is just a gun i got to try and get my girl to go.

I know it sounds stupid and cheap but like i said paying that for a replacement compared to what i paid for a loaner gun is hard is hard for me.

So just looking for the cheapest possible site to get a replacement, with reasonable shipping charges, not this $7 crap I've been seeing

The composite power tubes can be very brittle, but dropping them would not do the damage. If you put the gun under stress while using co2 it can freeze the power tube, and it will crack. I have broken them even while using an expansion chamber. This is why aluminum power tubes are a popular alternative.

Call Tippman 1-800-533-4831 I called them this morning in need of a new power tube. Tell em u just bought a used 98 off a friend and you can't put a response trigger (or cyclone feeder) on it because the power tube doesn't have the the air fitting on it, they will get your shipping info and send you a new one immediately, no questions asked. Tippmann is a very reputable company, and is happy to prove new power tubes as earlier 98's had ones that lack a neccisary fitting.

Wow thanks man. I would have never probably done that because most other company for any kind of product will just be like "no it's was probably just your fault blah blah blah" and give you a hard time.

But I decide to email then the problem and they are now sending me a new one free of charge!
