TIppman 98 custom with apex barrel? or PMI?

Hey i just got a barrel for my tippmann 98 custom and i just play recreationally. Is Apex barrel better than PMI razzor barrel, because i got both. so which one should i use?

And i am planning on getting a bolt what kind of bolt should i get?

since you own bolth barrels just pick one to use the next time you play, and then use the other one the next time after that and im sure you will pick your favorite after that

Re: TIppman 98 custom with apex barrel? or PMI?

How about you tape mod the apex on the PMI razzor, when you want accuracy turn down the apex, when you want distance turn it up.

As for bolts, none would really make your marker more accurate so if thats what you are looking for don't get one. If you are going to buy one i suggest any with an internal o-ring, ex. Orange bolt, New Designz, and Superfly. What the inner o-ring does is make your marker more efficient since less air is escaping from the back of the bolt and more is being used to propel the paintball. I personally use the New Designz. I have seen an increase in efficiency. The only problem was that my stock powertube was a little too big and the bolt was on there too snug to the point where it would hardly moved. All I did was changed my powertube and it fit better. However my dad has the same bolt and it works fine with his powertube, so don't assume you have to get a new one. Try out your bolt with your stock powertube and see what happens.

Google Shopping, just scroll through the lists. I've seen them go for between $35 and $100. You might do well to just get an APEX tip for your current barrel if you already have a good one.

I did a little more research and it seems you have to get an adapter if the barrel is not APEX ready. See here for more info:

The Ultimate Apex Barrel Thread

The A5 group seems to have a pretty good explanation about Apex Barrels and what will and will not work. Hope that helps and sorry if I confused anyone with my ill-informadness.

Ebay is always a good one stop place for stuff.

If you aren't comfortable with Ebay there is always Home : Paintball at paintball discounters. Buy paintball guns, paintballs, barrels, goggles, loaders, air systems, jerseys, gun upgrades, at paintball-discounters.com. Low prices, great service. at Paintball Discounters ; Paintball - Cheap Paintball Guns, Gear and Paintball Equipment ; Firstcall Paintball - Paintball - Paintball Gear | Paintball Gun | Paintball Package | Paintball Apparel at FirstCall Paintball .

Also, BT makes that Apex barrel as a standard barrel and tip, or you can buy a shrouded unit with either M16 styling or AK47 styling for under $50 for the 98's. I use the M16 style and I believe that Techie uses an AK47 style. You can find a link to my 98 in my signature and you can get to Techie's with this link----> techie's AK-98
