Exclamation WARNING! 98 threaded proto 16"

I got one for my salvo and got tape mod and the sling mount to make the shroud stop moving. I just realised when i had taken off the shroud, THE BARREL WAS MOVING! It moves to the sides, i checked the o-ring and all but cant figure out why the barrel moves to the sides, is this a factory defect of the marker or the barrel possibly? Please reply if you have this barrrel or any other information.

hi would check the threads on that barrel and make sure they aren't bending easily. I had a cheap barrel do the same thing to me due to the fact the threads were some sort of cheap "pot" metal. the very outer edge of the threading was so easy to bend.

Is there a gap in the front of the body?

Re: WARNING! 98 threaded proto 16"

there is no gap and the threads dont bend, its like its too small, but its a good barrel! It shoots fine but when i move it it moves, should i consider getting another barrel? Maybe a flatline with g36 carry handle like my avatar that sixshooter made for me? I like the lwrc series look, i like the lwrc m6a4 and the repr, i still want a 16". If i dont get a flatline, should i get a different shroud, a longer one that has round holes instead of those long things that the stock shroud has. I will try to make a video and show you guys how it moves, i can post it as html.

Re: WARNING! 98 threaded proto 16"

If it's just too small try wrapping it in electrical tape or something similar. That should add enough thickness to it that it will stop it from wobbling. It's also a good way to get spyder-threaded barrels onto an autococker-threaded gun.

Re: WARNING! 98 threaded proto 16"

Tippmann changed the 98c barrel threads.
NEW 98c barrels will fit OLD 98c threads but OLD 98c barrels WILL NOT fit NEW 98c receivers. This includes ABTs/Salvos/Carvers..etc.
