Re: HOWTO make own flatline/apex-style barrelsystem

One method I saw right after the FL came out was what a guy over on the WARPIG did. He ran a piece of fishing line through the barrel on the bottom of the barrel. Took a bit to get it to stay put in the right place when putting the barrel on, but he said he had pretty good performance out of it.

The theory is the line pushes the ball up where it makes full contact with the top of the barrel but not full contact on the bottom of the barrel and thus puts a back spin on the ball.

I tried that exact same idea! i used dental floss instead, but it didn't work as well for me.

an egg-shaped barrel would work wonders (they use that shape in sewagepipes).

Never done it myself. I got an FL soon after they came out.

I think with this ideal its all abotu the right weight line. Too big and you ant get it in the threads and too thin and it wont work. I might try it one day just to see if I can get it to work.

You know that dental floss makes me think (the wax on it), if you super polished the bottom of the barrel, and sand blasted the top, it might work too.
