Hey, I have been playing with my stock 98 barrel for a while, but now I don't have the reach that I need. I don't need any sniper barrel, I just need to get another 20 ft over stock. I am already shooting at 285 fps, so I cant get any hotter their. I also cant spend a whole lot on it. I used a python insert kit today, and it made a world of difference, but it still wasn't enough.

Id say flatline or apex but there kinda pricey like 80+ I love my flatline but its picky on paint other then that im not sure about many other barrels

The only barrels that will get you any more range are flatlines and apex's. Every other barrel will shoot the same distance.

Id go w/the Apex2 - I had one and it was a good barrel....Either that or get a good barrel and put an Apex Adapt. on the end of it - CP/Lapco

Keep in mind with all the suggestions that range as in ball flight and range as in effect(breaking) range are two totally different things. With your FPS maxed out your effective range is more or less maxed out. The Apex and Flatline barrels both use backspin to create lift and flatten the trajectory of the paintball, but drag is still a factor and though the backspin may negate that some your effective range increase will not equal your ball flight range increase.

So I guess the question is, are you really looking to reach out and touch some one, or are you looking to reach out and eliminate them. Remember that unless the field rules state otherwise a shot only counts if the ball breaks. Try not to get too caught up in the noise of increasing your ball flight range, you may find yourself disappointed when they check themselves and move in closer to shoot you out.

My personal opinion would be a Lapco Big Shot with the Apex tip. The fact that you can turn an Apex tip "Off and On" is quite handy. So go ahead and shoot at a long distance and scare someone off. But then if they or you move in just turn off the back spin and you're left with one of the most accurate barrels on the market. I've used Lapco's for years and always been impressed.
A little more expensive this way but you get the best of both worlds.

I would go apex2 try and get with in range with it off so when you ramp it up a few clicks your ball will still break. I hate it when people sit back a dump paint with apex2 full on and the balls just bounce off. I just wave at them and laugh
