I generally use my .686 bore on my Hammerhead kit with the Midnight. .688 of my teammates J&J kit works pretty good to.

i don't know who told you this but consider the following: a 1" barrel and paint leaving it at 300fps (which is the standard in paintball) and a 20" barrel and paint leaving it at 300fps. If the paint is the same size it will fly exactly the same distance. You see, the key point here is that since they both leave the barrel with the same velocity they will fly the same distance. HOWEVER you might need more air to have the same muzzlevelocity (which is why you should always chrono your marker whenyou switch your barrel). accuracy consists of many different factors out of which I would say choosing between 12-18" is the least of your concerns. on my upp'd ion rocking an iFit and a freak I noticed no change in accuracy changing only the tip from 11" (AA front) to a 17" (AA front). However I did notice a small change in fps. Changing the inserts of the iFit and Freak, however, had an impact on accuracy and I managed to have a change of roughly 25fps depending on the inserts. |
