Triumph AKA plastic 98

found a tippmann triumph for like 25 bux... is it really worth it? It is the bone basic model. from what I can tell its just a plastic 98 with a center feed... my question is... should I buy it for a parts gun?

This thread made me hunt down an exploded view of the Triumph (center feed would would perfectly with a custom build I'm planning that will use a 10-round spring-fed tube magazine)

Unfortunately what appears to be plastic shells over a marker appears in the drawing to actually be a pair of injection-molded plastic receiver halves. I can't tell from Tippmann's drawing if there are aluminum inserts for the internals to ride in or not.

For 25 bucks and a lot of work you could get a handful of parts you can use in your 98. If you do get it can you please take a pic of the inside of the reciever halves?

Re: Triumph AKA plastic 98

Considering the fact it costs over 130$ to replace the internals of a standard 98, I'm picking up one today, it even has n e-grip... the same fire modes as a us army grip, but who cares. I'm putting back together my rd/cf tippmann... gotta build a custom ebolt kit for it though... I really wish I knew what rams on the market would work for the project...

Re: Triumph AKA plastic 98

I bought an XT NIP for $25 as a loaner.

It fires balls.
About on the same level as a BE.

Nuthin to brag about.
barrel is crap.
Ugliest marker EVER. Looks like a pressure washer.

It'll work. Worth $25 if in perfect condition.

Re: Triumph AKA plastic 98

One of the first guns they ever made, the Cobra. It's one of the wierdest pump guns I've ever seen. I have a full write-up here if you're interested.
