Re: Project Salvo(sierra one)

I have a Project Salvo and love it...
I also have a Alpha Black, and 98C I converted to a Salvo.
All are set up like The Project Salvo. I saw previews of the Salvo's and set up my Alpha Black like it and that was the beginning for me. The Salvo and Alpha Black run great, especially as an RT. They run so well, I had stopped using my 2 favorites A5's(which I used for years). Ended up selling the A5's to keep running the Salvo's.

The only thing I wasn't thrilled with, was the forends. The Alpha Black's seem to small, and the Salvo's seem to big. I have no idea what Tippmann was going for. I put S.I.R. forends on them, and seem to even out the look and feel of the frame. The S.I.R. forends do make it a bit heavier, but it feels more like a real M16. Here are mine...

The next one is my 2nd Alpha with a cut down Salvo forend and stock, gives it more of an M4 feel.

the next one is one I modified for my friend. I cut down the stock forend for a Salvo, and put on it M16 front sight and rear carry handle.

I kept the stock barrels. The stock barrels are actually slightly thicker than 1", and hard to get the after-market barrels to fit right. Besides the stock barrel are actually decent, and using them helps keep the cost down.

Re: Project Salvo(sierra one)

My friend is considering buying a Salvo since he wants to upgrade his BT Banshee to an M4 style. He would be spending close to what a new Salvo costs just in pieces.

Re: Project Salvo(sierra one)

salvo is awesome. but the shroud is a problem as it moves unless the barrel is thick enough. but yeah, i love my salvo. im gonna get a tacamo mag kit. but at the same time i want it to look like an sr25. i hope i can get rap4 mags that have the same shape as the normal mag. but why get another marker because he wants m4 style bt banshee? he could get alpha black, the salvo looks like a hk416 or hk417, and also like an sr25(if u add a scope and long barrel).

Re: Project Salvo(sierra one)

I like the SR25 look. And I didn't even know it looked like a HK416/417. (had to look them up!) I commonly(and mistakenly) refer to almost any marker as an M4, unless they are AKs lol And I meant for the price he could spend just on pieces he could get one. I may have already mentioned this in an earlier post. I should sleep.. Again the Salvo's are nice looking, so please excuse me.

Re: Project Salvo(sierra one)

hmm yes, everybody thinks the m4 and m16 family are the best, because they have never heard of H&K, stupid ass goverment rejected the offer to switch to g36 coz it didnt look american, so then hk makes the 416 and 417 but they still say no. the bt tm15 looks even more like the 416. the salvo has a different mag.

Re: Project Salvo(sierra one)

I was pleased with my Sierra One (Project Salvo). Thought ill outline some points in case it helps anyone.

Pros:
-Accurate
-Cheap
-Durable
-Has rails (Very customisable)
-Folding stock
-Very rarely chops balls (gravity fed hopper 200 round)
-8bps, not a bad fire rate
-Looks and feels like an AR-15

Cons:
-Its big, and difficult to move fast compared to other markers
-Has feed troubles (Could be down to the hopper)

Re: Project Salvo(sierra one)

Yeah with a shake and bake hopper any marker will have feed issues...Especially with the popcorn effect of spent air rushing up the feed neck dislodging balls..

Re: Project Salvo(sierra one)

Considering a project salvo type folding stock on my 98, will the fold interfer with the tubing for the CF/RT?

Re: Project Salvo(sierra one)

Yes. When it is folded it ends up laying on the cyclone push rod.. There is a factory notch in the stock for the cf rod already, but it isn't deep enough.
