In this thread I will cover the basics of using the search function and I will also give advice on how to search the forums better!
I'll start by posting this
http://www.98og.net/search.php this is the "advanced search". This can be accessed by clicking "Search" at the top of the main page. Or by clicking "advanced Search" under the search bar off to the side of the main page. You can also just use the regular search bar located on the main page as well. In the advanced search you'll notice you have quite a few options in which to narrow down your searches. Generally I would start by searching for exactly what I want. You can also select which parts of the boards to search, whether you want your search to cover words inside the thread, or in the title of the thread and a lot more.
Now the problem that a lot of people run into is that they're too specific on what they're looking for. So a lot of times you have to change your search criteria. So instead of searching for "lapco or hammerhead" try a few of these other options lapco hammerhead, hammerhead, lapco, lapco barrel, hammerhead barrel. Just to mix things up a bit because not everyone is going to word things the same way that you would think they would.
Also there if you've exhausted your options and you STILL can't find what you're looking for take the time to go into the subsections of the boards and search manually. It'll take a bit longer but saves you from getting the "Use the search button" attack.
http://www.98og.net/forum.php just go there and look througout all the subsections of the threads. One great thing about the OG sites is that the members and the moderators try to post and keep things posted in the correct section of the boards to make looking for things a lot easier.
I hope this helps everyone out. Because there is so much information on this board that a little bit of help using the search button should help you navigate the boards better.
Oh and remember...
