| Re: Speedball 101 I think the electronic issue can still play a role for "tournament" markers. We roll with Tippmann's (X7's and 98's) largely because we like the modding you have to do and because we like the brand in any situation. I've seen a lot more people playing with their hoppers and fiddling with electronics in Egos, Angels, etc than I ever dealt with, but all those brands are made VERY well and fun to shoot too and the quality has gone up a lot along with the reliability. I just like the challenge of the Tips My latest speeball crossover is a 98 C, vertical feed, RI magnetic trigger, ape board, with an LPK and some other toys to buy for it.

Yeah, was kind of bummed that the Platinum version doesn't have some of the parts needed to mod it out, because the clam-shell design never appealed to me. Oh well. We have a good time although I've gotten a little snobby with my electo-whiz-bang-gizmo Tippmann and actually defer to my OTHER 98/X7 when I play scenario...on special occassions I'll break them out and let someone else use the non-electric versions. ![]()

this is exactly why I play both and alternate every other weekend (or when I can play) so I can get a better understanding of both realms...
