When I try to play speedball, I have my team go in silent, without guns blazing like everyone else.. I find the silence disturbs the enemy when they cant locate you right off... listen to their fire and then pick em off after you have fun stalking them for a bit! =D

Do you think this tactic would work for speedball? as far as I know, most speedballers arent too strategically based... more of reaction times and field layout

I personally don't play speedball but i think there is a lot of strategy in that format. cutting lanes, making lanes, taking out angles to cover your man across the field, controlling a snake is an art form within its self. the tactics are really different then in the woods but they still stratigize before each match.

I don't know how the silence would do on a tourney field, Because from what i gather and what Ive seen by watching tournaments you can almost see the team start, so you have at least a decent idea to where they went, may be not exact but you can pin it down to a section of field.

My technique is just running low, low, low, and realllllly fast. bent knees, and tucked body ^^... so i move noiselessly and sightlessly... Rip em up from their feet, up.

I think it would have more to do with the individuals you're going against.

A lot of the less expirenced teams in my area would be confused for a while, but the guys I play with run a lot of 1-on-1's and in a 1-on-1 you don't go in guns blazing because you give way your position. If anything, against an opponent that has enough expirence similar to mine, you'd end up with your opponent breathing down your neck.

That being said; I don't know how the guys in your area play either.

Speedball is named after what you have to do. SPEED is the concept. Shooting at the start is to help stop the other team on their side of the field. Makes them slower and you faster. If you dont stop them then you will just meet them at the middle of the field because they will do the samething as you when they realize you arent shooting.
