Re: semi or full auto

I started playing when there were only two types of guns available. A Nel-spot and a Splatmaster. The game was so much more fun when everything was equal.

I play semi only. I have never personally owned a gun or hopper with a battery. I'm getting to the age now where I probably ought to start thinking about full-auto though. The eyes and legs aren't what they used to be.

Re: semi or full auto

I have a 98 custom and project salvo with a rt and pen spring mod. Also have a 98 custom and model 98. All guns have the cyclone feeder on them. I try not to use the rt so much. The pen spring mod helps dial in the rt much faster

Remember this, high ROF does not compensate for accuracy. High rates of fire are useful when confronted with multiple opponents and you want to keep your stream while switching from target to target, but high ROF is not necessary for this. I've done well in the past with both my semis and pumps (I own no electros) against multiple attackers, it's all in threat identification, field awareness, and ability to deliver paint in the correct area.

Have I used high rates of fire? Yes. Do I use them often? No. If I had full auto capabilities would I use them often? Probably not.
The only times I really saturate are when I have a surplus amount of paint, am out of effective range of opponents, need to keep them behind cover, and am outnumbered.

But, I can't afford tons of paint, if I am out of range I don't hesitate to move into range, I rarely play as the back/support and if I do I press and post a lot (force a duck, then encourage a peek), and if I am outnumbered I position myself in preperation to whittle down the opposing numbers.

It's all a style of play thing, and the amount of convenience you want. In my opinion, only lazy backs are justified in full auto...

Re: semi or full auto

the only auto fire I really care to use (if any at all) is E-grip (for the 3 burt fire mode) and on the A5 i want to use the H E Egrip for the selector know single shot or burst mode (I prefer 3 shot burst)...but I usually only use the 3 burst mode for speed ball (and even then thats once in a very rare time) because my fingers seem to keep up fast enough to lay the paint with the wiz bang toys the speed ball guys have...

Re: semi or full auto

I prefer my r/t to a full auto or e-grip. I feel that you need to have some targetting and really try to hit what you are aiming at. Not praying and spraying!!

Re: semi or full auto

i custom moded my e trigger because i hate using an allen wrench to change modes on my tippy so i took apart a broken air soft gun filled down the the trigger on that and now there is another 1/4th inch trigger sticking out of the hole its nice and convenient but not tournament legal

Re: semi or full auto

semi takes skill- full aut is like a 9 year old on call of duty, spray and pray.

Re: semi or full auto

I like having full auto but I rarely use it. It's really only for those moments when you have the element of surprise against a group of enemies. Normally with a pump or semi, the group is going to hit the deck as soon as you take out the first guy, making it harder to get a multikill. In this situation you're more likely to get most or all of them with a full auto sweep if they are bunched too close together.

F/A can also be an intimidating way to suppress enemies when it's crunch time and you're buddy is going for a flag cap, but when trying to make the kill shot, three aimed balls are always going to be more accurate and effective than a three shot burst.

Re: semi or full auto

well I can get my finger to work a bit faster then the three burst mode on most egrips at least the A5 one...but I can put them (most of the time) right on target...
