| Re: semi or full auto Well here in Australia, all markers are sold with altered boards that are re-flashed for semi only. There are a few "naughty" boards that are used for scenario days, but for official tourneys the players are restricted to semi.

| Re: semi or full auto What type of mode I use depends on what I'm playing. Speedball I try to keep myself on uncapped semi, although sometimes for fun we use ramp modes in the rec games. Tournaments are semi-only usually. In the bush I'll switch between semi, burst, and auto depending on the thickness of the bush and the amount of people playing. Full auto will help punch through the bush and gives you a better shot at an elimination than single shots (dang twigs!), as well as keeping people under cover. With less bush, I'll use 3 round burst and semi to conserve paint. |

| Re: semi or full auto i have to say that i run full auto all the time. however i don't "spray and pray" i use suppression fire to either let my team move and and eliminate the player or i fire off a stream and then move. i've played semi auto, with an response trigger and now full auto and full auto matches my style of play. however, typically scenario games outlaw full auto so i learned a long time ago to get accurate with my shots before going to a full auto marker. |

| Re: semi or full auto I play semi-only. Once I get my e-trigger, my 98 will only ever see semi and turbo. I have a spyder imagine that can do burst and full auto, but I never used those settings on any paintball field. That is not to say I fire slow. my spyder can crank out 14-16 bps in semi auto. Ironic, because it's full auto is capped at 14. Even a mechanical triggered 98 can crank out decent bps. I was sprayin' like mad at Judge Dredd this weekend. I don't really understand why people complain about full auto. I really can't tell who is and isn't shooting full auto. With all the crazy boards, markers, and firing modes out there, can you really say with certainty they are firing full auto? If you can physically see their fingers laying on the trigger and not moving, you are close enough to shoot them, and any complaint is a non-issue while he is walking off the field with your balls on his face. If you are complaining about high firing rates, it is understandable, but I still disagree. I have found little reason to fire more than 10 bps, and I laugh a little on the inside at people who do fire more. That is a lot of paint they are throwing, and it takes a reasonable amount of concentration to sustain it on target. (I know, I've done it) That is a lot of money wasted, IMHO. Someone so engrossed in getting you out is ripe for a flanking by one of your buddies. He is concentrating on you. he has to be, or you have no problem. If he is dividing his attention on multiple targets, he can be shot out by one of them not taking fire, as long as the group is good enough at presenting yourself as a bad target. If you and your friends can't do that, you should learn. That is how you defeat ridiculous firing rates. That or an "outlast" strategy. The faster you fire, the quicker you will run out of paint. You are likely to carry a lot, but you WILL run out eventually. If they have been hosing previously, but lower their rate of fire, you know they are getting low. Continue (or better, if you have man-power, increase) the pressure on his position. He will be out and/or useless soon enough. In summary, hosing is a crutch. It can be defeated. It is not an end-all and be-all strategy. Learn how to counter it and you will be a MUCH better player.

| Re: semi or full auto It depends on how im playing and who im playing with. For example last sunday while playing everyone was using semi so i used semi, but like 3 weeks ago i was vs people with FA so i used PSP i don't use full auto too much, just when i feel like wasting paint and having fun lol |

| Re: semi or full auto i have an rt on my 98 i play scenario and milsim kinda stuff, i also dont have the want need or money to go through cases of paint but my gun on my team is a great supresor i dont like to go full auto, i like bursting myself and easier to switch targets without wasting paint, if im in the woods i have no problem going semi or waling on a feild with 10 yr olds but if im playing against a group of jerks well im going full so all in all i guess i like it all full semi burst but when i put together my a5 m14 semi is aok for me! |

| Re: semi or full auto Semi. I make my shots count and tend to use few as possible. the more accurate your gun, then fewer shots you should need to take.
