ACT help.

Good day,
Just picked up 2 98c's for a good price. But I have a little bit of a conundrum. 1 gun is a 98c basic with act. The other is a Platinum 98c without act. What i was thinking of doing is swapping the act system from the basic to the platinum. The basic is going to be a backup gun for my son and me (he has an A-5). Looking at the act kit on tippmannparts it looks like I should be able to just swap from the rear bolt back + the linkage arms...but I'm not 100% positive. Anyone know if this is right or not...and or if there would be anything else to swap?

Thanks

Re: ACT help.

should fit right in. The only difference between the custom and custom plat is the shells, airline and valve (no threads).

Re: ACT help.

Thanks. Test fired both guns this morning and everything seems to be working good. Now comes the modding of em Looking at getting some bt 14" Apex2 barrels for em. Maybe some stock feed stocks, and remote lines. HPA tanks, and HE Grips ( not sure on the grips yet. If i do get he grips I'll probably add in the cyclone system with the upgrades.

Re: ACT help.

ok here is a lil help

1- Apex2 barrel kit is pretty good but the stock barrel that comes with it is crap, so you can use it no problem but you may want to pick up a apex2 adaptor for an after market barrel

1.5) Now if your looking for accuracy start looking at barrel kits
they have different sized backs that allow you to bore match your paint for a better fit into your barrel
that may a bit to much at the moment but keep it in the back of your head for later down the road. they are expensive but you will see that it will help

I have the J & J edge kit and it works great for my self!

here are a few other good ones
flasc
Flasc Paintball Control Bore Barrel Kit - Tippmann 98/Alpha Black/Project Salvo - Lowest price available from HustlePaintball.com

J&J
J&J Edge Elite Barrel Kit Tippmann 98 Paintball Barrels paintball barrel kit tactical paintball paintball marker barrels

2- stock feed stocks? sorry dont know what this is

there is a feed neck and there is a stock (butt stock)
depends on your play style there are tons out there
make sure you get the stock thats is labeld for a 98/US army
Stocks gun parts accessories marker upgrades available at HustlePaintball.com

3- For remote lines you need the better ones if you want to save your self
a head ache later for this i would suggest
a). pro-connect 3 by PSI works
(Pro-Connect III - PSIWORX SOLUTIONS)
b). Guerrilla air Coba remote line
(Guerrilla Air Cobra Remote Line)

4- Any guerrilla air or ninja air tanks will be the best bang for your buck
Paintball Tanks & Paintball Tank Sale

5- Also HE grips only work with the A5 marker your son has
you can get E-grips for a 98
many videos on line that show how to instal the grip
but be prepared to buy batteries and make sure you have extra on you during games. Also they dont like rain at all so if it starts raining swtich to your back up

6- cyclones are a great loader
now i maybe one of the few or one of the many but
i have not upgraded a single thing in my cyclone at all except squishy paddles in my phenom if it works no need to fix it
but thats just me
your cyclone could turn into a blender the first time you try it each is a bit differnt but that should be the last of your worries

hope it helps pm any time if you have more questions

Re: ACT help.

perhaps he ment an air through stock? or to change the stock feedneck? Personally I have found the stock feedneck to be quite adequite and wouldn't change it unless it broke or got lost.

in the case of the E-grip it is cheaper to get the APE board + needed parts than buying the original E-grip (depending on the site you buy from) if you buy new.

Re: ACT help.

Thanks Arson24 and devlin. Yes thats exactly what I meant the air through stock. Thanks for the tip on the ape board and parts, I will look into it. As for the barrel kits yes i've done alot of reading on them and i will go that route I think it will be better for all three guns. Thanks again for all the great tips.

Re: ACT help.

May I ask why you want a cyclone over a standard battery operated hopper?

Hows APE customer service compared to tippmann @ delvin
Last time I had to replace my board Tippmann replaced it free with just a simple e-mail.
Which is good especially if you are buying a used kit.
