You need a Chronograph for that. Your local field should have one.

NEVER EVER EVER play without a chronograph. If you are shooting it at too high a velocity, it could seriously injure someone.

My buddy shot straight through my pod and shattered it once!

Your tippmann velocity will most likely spike drop then spike again

Chronoing it with low in the high rate of fire is best IMO

If you can tune your velocity so that your highest spike is under 300fps (I like to suggest 280fps) you should be ok

Unfortunately there is no surefire way to chrono anything without a chronograph. Any (legal) field will have one, or if you want to shell out the $65 they have some really good handheld ones.
