It's an awesome gun though, loud as balls however. Yes it fires the paintball by igniting the propane, it is techically an explosion. The gun does in fact get pretty warm, it does not affect performance in any way as far as I have heard. As for the 50,000 shots/tank I don't think any user has gotten close to that yet, so I don't know if that is actually true, although it probably is.

According to insurance companies, playing paintball is statistically one of the safest things you can do. Running around in the woods, not so much...

If you need to carry your own HPA, buy a scuba tank. You can get them filled at any dive shop, and one will last a few guys for a whole day.
