98 custom + flatline = low velocity

Just purchased a rarely used tippmann 98 custom with a flatline. I brought it to the field for the first time and i can NOT get this gun to shoot over 225 FPS! It varies from sometimes 225-190, and a spike of 250 now and then.

I tried adjusting the velocity with my allen screw to the point where the allen screw almost falls out and i still can't reach velocity @ 290... whats wrong?

Im using Draxuss: bronze + HPA (48/3000)

Re: 98 custom + flatline = low velocity

your ASA line might be blocked or clogged.. look in the screw in hole in the back where the bottle screws in.. also you may want to try another tank or tear the gun apart, clean it, lube it, and put it back together and give it another go.

gun has been pulled apart, cleaned + lubed prior to going to the field. Ill check the ASA line. Just pull it apart and take a look i assume?

Yeah remove the line from the drop forward/ screw for the bottle and air it out somehow.

Most of your higher end markers can run on LP but most people just run HP because it's more reliable. Your Egos, DM, Luxe etc. Can use LP but the reg coverts HP to LP so it's smarter to have 800 psi and has more than enough than have to little to let the marker operate.

To OP, try putting a few drops of oil in the Asa and fireing. You may also need to change some orings.
