| Re: wich marker is better? I vote 98 Platinum, because of the modability. They are all pretty much the same marker on the inside. I believe the Valken and BT are A5 threaded though. For the price, he may want to look into a Project Salvo or Alpha Black, depended on what he want the end look to be like. For the price of the base 98P, you get a marker that is a 98 on the inside, that is an M4 out of the box with the shroud, mag, and stock

| Re: wich marker is better? I would stick him with a tippman for a starter gun. So that leaves the carver one and 98 custom. The carver one has the exact internals as the 98 custom, but just a different body mold. Both are great starter guns, but the 98 has a slick half receiver, which is good for maintenance. Also the 98 is better for the cyclone feed system if your friend will want to eventually upgrade. So I voted for the 98 because it has a few more qualities that are better for beginner players.

| Re: wich marker is better? 150 bucks will get you a project salvo, got the mil-sim look out of the box with the ame 98 internals we all love and the durability of a tippmann as well as being able to take most of the 98c upgrades that wou want to put on it. I have had mine for two years and love it. That being said i would stick with a tippmann out of the ones you are looking at, like people said ither the 98c or the carver one, but personally id drop the extra 50 bucks to get the salvo/AB over the Carver.

| Re: wich marker is better? first off does he have the $$$ to throw around or is he looking for a good marker on a budget? if hes got the piles of $$$ to use go on a 98C, if he is some what limited on cash but still wants a marker thats "built like a tank" get the Carver one )its the shot gun looking one with rails), its got exact same internals as a 98C with more rails, lower price tag, granted its not as customizable or upgradeable as a 98C but if he has less then $105 to spend this (the carver one) would be the best one, you can still put grips, lights, and stocks on the carver one which I believe are the same ones that can be used on the 98C (stocks for a 98C can be used on a carver one), its really up to him, but if possible put both the 98C and carver one in his hands and have him play a few games with them first to see which he would like better of the two.

| Re: wich marker is better? the project salvo, and Alpha Blacks are esentally all the same internals as the 98C, the AB is not as customizeable due to the body style, so if he wants either of thoes go with the Salvo as you have more options for customizing the looks, if he wants ACT then grab the 98, theres really no difference between the salvo or 98C, just the fact that the 98C has ACT and the Salvo does not is the main difference (unless you start looking into ergonomics like the annoying front grip on the 98 [yes to me its annoying])

| Re: wich marker is better? I have just gotten into paintball about a year ago. I started with my 98 ACT. I have played about a dozen full days of paintball over the summer and have NEVER had a ball break with that gun. ACT is worth the money
