Response Trigger help

I dont understand. I have the RT and It has no leaks or nothing. I fill up my CO2 pop that ***** in there turn the screw all the way right so I test if I have leaks and everything checks out. So now I am just slowly tuning the RT, and the most I got was like maybe a blowback of 2 or 3 shots at once. I dont get it spent 2 days with this ****ing thing and it just isnt working. is it my gun? or something I mean it is seriously hard for me to beleive that this thing can even hit 15bps it just seems ulimitly impossible to tune it. I spent hours filling up my 20oz trying to tune it and nothing. Yes the trigger when the valve is open it starts to become really hard to pull and then I slowly turn it like 1/16th of a turn, then shoot then another 1/16 then shoot and I did that till the valve was all the way closed and nothing happened. So idfk what to do. Im just thinkin about buying an E-trigger or whatever it is. Any help would be wonderful. I just dont ****ing get it guys it just really seems completly impossible to get it to 15bps. I cant even get it to fire 3!

Re: Response Trigger help

It takes a lot of getting used to and talented fingers. I find it easier to get it tuned with the 1/8 inch fittings and a double trigger, and I can empty a hopper at 15bps now, and so can anyone else I let try it. Still, etriggers are easier...

You'll have to do a lot of fiddling with it and practice to get an consistent pull to get the full auto effect. Getting the larger hoses and fittings will also help.

Re: Response Trigger help

It sounds like you're adjusting it right & you're leak free. Are you squeezing as opposed to pulling the trigger? You have to find the "sweet spot" as they call it. Just gently squeeze it until it starts to repeat. Once you find it, you'll know it. I find the 98's are the best with the R/T as opposed to the A5 or X7. They don't have the cyclones to share the residual with. Like I said, just squeeze, don't pull. Good luck!

Re: Response Trigger help

Well it just seems like there is no sweet spot. I called tippmann and asked them wtf to do and they just said well put pressure on the trigger and I did still nothing. Maybe I can send it to tippmann and have them install it and tune it for me? I mean I would take the RT over the E trig any day I hate electronic **** (except for my hopper)

Re: Response Trigger help

My sons A-5 did the same thing-I bought it used. Guys at the pro shop replaced some interior o-ringsinside the R/T cylinder. When you are adjusting it does it get to the point where you can't even pull the trigger at all?

Re: Response Trigger help

The RT is a finicky thing sometimes and there is a learning curve. Before you try and tune it, Make sure you're velocity is set. When you adjust the flow of air out of the valve(velocity), it changes the RT's supply of air so you want to tune it after you get that set.

Trigger control is HUGE with an RT. You have to get a feel for it. My teammate can shoot my RT 2x as fast as me cuz he's got better control. I sawed the tip of my trigger finger in half with a table saw and all the nerves got cut so I dont sense the trigger pull as much, lol.

Having 1/8th inch lines, a double trigger, and changing the sear/return springs will all help 'widen" the sweetspot, but I wouldnt buy more stuff just yet. Have a friend shoot it. He may just find the groove that you haven't yet.

BTW, try to ease up on the "****". It can be considered dodging the swear filter. Welcome to the forum and good luck!

Re: Response Trigger help

Well I called tippmann and they said I can just send my gun in and they will fix it. Which is gnarley xD. The thing is I have to pay for the parts they use and the shipping. But oh well at least I know itl work when I get it back

Kobornigan said it best. once you squeeze you have to basically hold your finger in the sweet spot and let the trigger "bounce" this is what gets you that rapid fire. pull in just a millimeter more and she will stop firing. Sweet spots the key and the bear is finding it.

I have tuned mine to perfection and got it working great. 15 minutes later I lose the touch and have to find it again. Nature of the beast I suppose.

Re: Response Trigger help

I'm having the same issue finding the sweet spot, and tuning it. I have one more problem, the first time I test fired, the screw within the banjo t fitting shot out.

The threads in the reciever are now stripped! I guess the velocity was way too high. I found the screw, but since stripped and won't stay in place, what do I do? It works if I hold it in place with my finger. I suppose I could just glue it in place with Gorilla Glue or something. It would no longer be able to open or close the air supply. I guess my next question is, will a stationary position make any difference, after the glue dries, when trying to tune the RT /velocity? I don't know if that makes any sense.

Oh, also, I do have the bigger air lines, and banjo fittings, and a cyclone feed.
