Re: another mech. trigger mod idea.?.?.?

woohoo!!! oh ya, it works! well sorta, instead of grinding my hammer down I used an electric mouse sander. I sanded exactly where I said I would and a little bit on the latch edge itself to smooth it down. the pull is MUCH nicer now. I thought that it would only shorten the pull but it also lightened the pull. also I compleetly removed the trigger spring that helped too.

I don't know if you want to do this to your gun, because i just did it, and i won't be able to try it extensively til spring, but replace the sear spring with a pen spring, if u ask me, that is the true pen spring mod, as i did the "pen spring mod" and i noticed no dif at all. but like i said, i don't know the prolonged side-affects of this, so proceed at your own risk.

I already did it and I love it!

Another thing you can do to lighten trigger pull is to solder 2 small magnets in the place of your sear spring so that they repel each other.

Re: another mech. trigger mod idea.?.?.?

I haven't read all of this thread, but I can tell there is a lot of misinformation in it.

First off, you have the right idea with grinding the hammer down a bit. However, I would suggest grinding down the sear, since it's a much cheaper part if you eff it up. Another thing you might want to try is polishing the sear. Personally I've never tried it on a blowback, but when doing trigger jobs with cockers it makes a very noticeable difference. It makes the release of the hammer much lighter. Like I said, I've never tried it on a blowback so I can't tell you how well it works in that application.

You already have removed the trigger spring and lightened up the sear spring, that's good. I'd be a little worried about it not returning fast enough at higher ROF though.

I wouldn't suggest lightening the hammer though. Lightening the hammer means you need a stiffer drive spring, which puts more pressure on the sear. What this means is that the sear will require more force to release the hammer. If anything, you'd want to get a lighter spring with a heavier hammer.
