another mech. trigger mod idea.?.?.?

I am trying to make my mechanical trigger pull shorter and lighter.(I don't like electronics) I have already done the penspring mod, pollishing mod, and my fang trigger already has a trigger stop/pre-trigger pull stop. I tried to put a small spring arround the pin that my sear sets on but that just sent my gun into an uncontrolable full auto. so I was wondering if anyone has ever tried to grind a small part of the hammer off to make the sear come off sooner. the lip that the sear catches would be smaller and hopefully release sooner.
I drew on the hammer with a sharpie where the grinding would be taking place.

so, do you think that this will work?
has anyone tried this already?

You don't want to grind that off of your hammer. You need that part to catch the sear. It will not help you in any way. The Fang trigger and pen spring mod are great for making your trigger pull shorter and lighter as I have also done this. I know you say you dislike electronics, but if you combine the Fang Trigger, pen spring mod and an e-grip you will have the lowest possible trigger pull in my opinion. Your trigger will only be pulling against your pen spring and the e-grip's micro switch which is much softer than your sear spring. I have done this and love the way my tippmann shoots.

I know that, I am not trying to take alll of the latch off just some of it. that way hopefully the sear will come off sooner.

Just trying to help. You may find yourself in full auto if you grind that off. Just grinding a little off may make it harder for your sear to catch.

I would get the hairpin trigger kit from techt. I have it on mine and its been working great. It will do the same thing your trying to do only it will do so by lowering the point where the sear sets (if that makes sense).

Actually, no. No one has welcomed me yet you would be the first. Thank you! I also have the Zero Kick A.C.T. Hammer in my 98 Custom Platinum Series. Since it is lighter it actually cycles just a bit faster.

ya i understand the concept of the kit. i tried to put a small spring arround my pin but it was apparently too big and it sent the gun into an uncontrolable full auto. it is an option that I have been looking into though.

ps. welcome to the forum!!

I dont think I would grind your hammer.. that will make your gun wind up slipping every shot and require recocking.. and it wouldnt hold... I wouldnt do it..
