Join Date: Nov 2010 Posts: 149 Points: 1028 Power: 22 Theouath`s R/T trigger stop mod "How to" Greetings folks, here is the walk through of my new trigger stop mod for the R/T. The idea was to find a cheap simple way to stop you from pulling too hard on the trigger and going beyond the sweet spot so it can be reached and sustained everytime. All you need is a nylon washer! Start by removing your grip. Then pop out the safety and remove the trigger assembly. Undo the screws and the ASA bolt that hold the grip halves together. Remove the complete R/T piston and pull out the plunger. The internal diameter of the piston housing is 16mm so the washer I chose measured 16mm outside diameter with a 4mm internal diameter and 1.5mm thick. As you can see it did not fit. So the next step was to reduce the outer diameter of the washer with a piece of sand paper. I wound the washer tightly on a drill bit and turned it in the drill whilst holding the sandpaper against the washer to get even sanding. Try not to go too small, you want it to fit the piston housing just right so it does not fall out without tapping it on a hard surface. I then enlarged the hole in the middle to 5mm, you could go bigger than this but if you go smaller you will be restricting the airflow into the piston. Un-modified left - modified right Through testing I also had to sand the washer to thin it out slightly using sandpaper on a hard surface to ensure even sanding. It was 1.5mm thick it is now 1.25mm. This is the critical point and should be done gradually, if you dont sand it enough and your marker wont fire, sand it too much you will still be able to pull through the sweet spot. And it fits perfectly Poke it to the bottom of the piston housing. Then just re-build the piston, grip and trigger and put it back on your marker to test it, dont bother to gass up the marker to test it, just cock it and pull the trigger to see if it will fire. If it does not fire or if it only fires if you pull really hard your washer is too thick, whip it out again and thin it out a tiny bit more. If it fires then gas it up to see how well it works, if you can pull through the sweet spot, your washer is too thin. Even if it is too thin it will still be much easier to find and hold it on the sweet spot. You probably can skip many of the mods to the washer by getting one the correct size to start with but the thickness of the washer that works on mine may not work on yours so you probably still have to do a bit of thinning out anyway to get it right. It really does not take long to do this and is far cheaper than buying an adjustable trigger that essentially does the same job. This is such a simple mod, I am supprised it has not been done before. Good luck and shoot me any questions you may have about this mod. Happy R/T shooting __________________ THE GREATEST REVENGE IS STAYING ALIVE
