Trigger too hard & RT frosting up

I was so excited to get my "new" used 98 Custom with RT today from Ebay but found myself immediately frustrated.
1)It has a after market double trigger thats so stiff to pull its like the plastic is bending to inable the marker to shoot. This is happening with no CO2 attached. My old Model 98s factory trigger was very easy to pull, in comparison.

2) I was able to tune it (with the stiff trigger) per tippmanns video but after about 30-50 shots the 1/8 line was frosted along with the connector to the power tube and it stopped the rapid fire and was only semi auto.

Please give me some advice on what i can check /do. I shouldnt have to use a expansion chamber to have this work normally should I ?

Re: Trigger too hard & RT frosting up

OK! I'm a TARD! The reason the trigger was so hard to pull is cause the gun fires when the safety is engaged. Amazing what happens when you push the lil button that says 'push to fire'. So everythings ok with the trigger (pull) and I can easily hit the 'sweet spot' now w ith easy. However its like its snowing in here. After just a few rapid shots I m frosting up again & spittin frost. So thats still a problem.

Re: Trigger too hard & RT frosting up

Dont worry I think we have all done that. The frosting is probably just because you are running CO2. Have you looked into HPA?

Re: Trigger too hard & RT frosting up

No, I haven't checked into HPA. I wanted to run a cyclone (already paid for)along with this RT too. Is HPA the only solution?? . Im not sure what it'd take to switch over?? I have 4 players in my household(Im the Dad) so I dont know how hard it'd be to transition & cost. We don't play at "official" fields so I have to refill 5-8 CO2 tanks before we go out.

Re: Trigger too hard & RT frosting up

Conversion is easy and you only need to replace one component. Toss that CO2 tank and buy a HPA tank.

DONE!

It is literally THE easiest upgrade to do. Okay, well upgrading your barrel is as easy.

Re: Trigger too hard & RT frosting up

CO2 tends to last longer (20oz), unless you go out and get a 90/4500, which will result in you running a remote anyways.
In my opinion, it's worth the switch to HPA.
However, if you get anti-siphon tubes installed in your CO2 tanks and run an Xchamber/remote line, that will provide the necessary volume expansion it needs to run smoothly for awhile. It will still frost if you sit on the RT for too long, but not nearly as quickly.
With HPA, you will notice a drastic difference in your FPS consistency, and you will also never get frost.
HPA is also much better in the long run for the internals of your markers, and O Rings last forever.
Help at all?

anti-siphoning a CO2 tank is something you do if you run a co2 tank off an ASA directly...running an anti-siphoned tank off a remote would have the opposite effect...since tippmanns have a stock 10 deg ASA, anti-siphoning doesnt really help...theres a great write up on it on model98.org
