Thoughts on the utilization of artillery assets?

Re: Artillery

Love it. Anything that adds extra elliments to the game, I am all for it. Artillery, airstrikes, chemical attacks, nuc attacks. We use alot of these ellements at my home fields scenarios.

We've utilized Artillery out at OK D-Day before. Our team captain owned one of the Sceptor M100 mortars they made a limited run of. Lots of paint lobbed into a German held base. Dont know if they got anyone out or not, but they sure buttoned up tight. Made it alot easier for our Commonwealth brethren to roll over that base.

Re: Artillery

Only ever got to use smoke balls (the cheap ones that you get from firework shops), and most places here seem to have banned them. :/

Re: Artillery

Awesome. Like Jester said its great to lob grenades, paintballs, BBs, etc, especially when your not right near the action. My 12g based launcher has served me well and I hope to build a better and constant air launcher in the future. O, and seeing someone get covered in paint from a trip wire nade just gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside.

Hey Jester those strikes and attacks sound interesting, care to elaborate.

Re: Artillery

We used the orange marine smokes as chemical gas attacks.

Our air strikes are called into the scenario director by the generals. You use a grid square ref. The head ref fires off a fire works mortar to signal the strike. Everyone in a given area is eliminated.

Nukes are used the same way as air strikes. But it cost you points to use them. The close down your target the rest of the day.

The refs have to be sneaky. The players figured out when they saw them with a mortar to clear out of the area...
