| Re: vantage points I play in a ravine, so we have high points and low points applenty. they both have their advantages and disadvantages. when you are down low you can see ppl on the hill and hide pretty good from the people. when you are up high you can't acctualy see the people down low very good because of all the brush. but also because of all the brush you can attempt a suicide-ish run to get behind the enemy, and 5/10 times you can get away with it. oh and speaking of the brush everyone likes pictures. i took these last sunday. not the best pics but it is all I got. ![]() this is one of the guys dragging down a new bunker. ok it is a pallet. ![]() this is my little bro. all he is usin right now is a pistol. ![]() here he is again! ![]() the opfor. ![]() game over. new game and yes I got shot in both of these games but that is why I got to take some pictures. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

| Re: vantage points The high ground is always preferable. Your shots travel further, you have a better view of the battlefield, you generally have better cover and firing positions and attackers have at come up hill at you.

| Re: vantage points I would think that you always want to take the high ground. Not just for the vantage point, but from the point of view that historically military commanders have always wanted to take the high ground. The enemy OPSFOR will have to fight uphill. They will have to attack a defended position with the defense having the advantage of shooting down at their opponents. While I agree that the "hill" can be flanked while the main force is attacking, a good CO should have the forsight to see this and have defendors ready to combat this threat. Maybe I am wrong, I am a very in-experienced CO myself as I used to contribute to the plan and never come up with it. So I could be wrong. ***Disclaimer. I was never in the military. It just seems that since the leadership of the people that I used to play paintball with moved away, I have become the CO and it is not a job I wanted but I had the most playing experience so it seemed like I was our left overs best option.***
